OT (sort of): Today is THE day!

I wasn't really planning on doing this it just kind of came up after shopping with a non-WLS friend who follows the OA-HOW program.  She weighs and measures EVERYTHING she eats.  I'm going to that extreme, but I went grocery shopping with her last night and it inspired me to start eating better.  So today I'm making three resolutions!

1) Make better food choices
2) No more eating out, unless it's a planned event with a friend
3) ONE - yes, I said ONE, Starbucks a day! I can make my own coffee the rest of the day.

Even though there's three things - I'm not really trying to change my world all at once.  But I have become quite the glutten in many areas lately and it's beginning to get me into all kinds of trouble, especially when it comes to my pocket book. If I don't take control soon, I'm going to have to get another part-time job in addition to doing Lia Sophia!

Anyway, I'm posting this here so I can hopefully get some accountability with all y'all knowing about my decisions.  But please be nice to me since I'm horrible at sticking to commitments!

Love ya'll!

Here's a thought to file away for future reference...  (just remember, I fully believe in baby steps!)

Once you're okay with one Starbucks a day, then you might consider weaning it down to every other day, or eventually, one per WEEK!  That's what I shoot for - one "frou-frou" coffee per week.  So when there's a Maple Grove coffee, that's it for that week.  On the off weeks, I'll have one before PNC with you fine folks!  Otherwise, I just drink the morning coffee with one of the fabulous SF creamers out there.  Usually Hazelnut, but sometimes Caramel or French Vanilla.  (I'd LOVE it if Carnation or International Delight would make MORE of their flavors in SF!!!)

I am NOT religious about the 1 per week deal, but I do TRY to stick to it.  If you do the math, the coffee thing is pretty freakin' expensive!  Even at just ONE latte/day, assuming a round price of $4, that's $120/month!

Good luck, sweet cheeks - you know I love you & am here if you need to talk!!

We all have areas that we could improve upon.
Good for you for taking the plunge.
I remember thinking "how could I do the 10 day liquid diet?"  But once I started it got easier with each day and I was more empowered knowing that I had control.
Good luck!!

Take control Tracy!  You can do it!!

I've been trying to just have one Caribou a day and so far so good.  Not to say I don't drink coffee, but I drink the free stuff and then add the Spenda Flavors for Coffee, especially the Mocha.  One box has 30 sleeves of flavor and it costs about the price of one latte.  Linda and I also have the Taster's Choice coffee crystals at home for a quick cup.

I know how hard it is, I freaked out a couple weeks ago when I hit the high side of my five pound grace pounds and did the whole Fitday thingy.....well that got old quick.  Now I try to make the right choices as much as possible, but I don't kick myself to hard if I mess up....it's life

I'll be here for you if you ever need a shoulder to lean on or a ear to vent to!

Hugs,
Edi

Miss ya, Tracy!  I've  been super busy with the kids and with life in general.  I haven't had the time to even chat anymore.  With the dreaded winter coming soon, I think my social life will get better.

Congrats on your commitments!  Being accountable is what works best.

Talk soon!  Miss you too much!
