Who can eat this without a problem ?

I've had cooked apples since surgery and raw.  The cooked (with no skin) went down with no problem. The raw one was a WHOLE other story!  I ate one (and at the time it tasted SOOOO good) right before I got on a 3 hour plane ride.  The skin must have gotten stuck, because I was miserable for the next 4 hours.  I tried desperately to throw it up, but couldn't - I was nearly in tears.  I will NEVER EVER eat another apple with the skin on as long as I live - and I can pretty much eat everything else.

It sounds like I might be in the minority of people that have problems with apples, but thought I should share just so you are EXTRA careful if you do decide to eat them.  I probably just didn't go about it the right way - I ate it right off the apple in big bites - I'm sure if you cut it up in smaller pieces you wouldn't have a problem.

Take care!

So glad to hear many of you can eat them with no problems. To avoid getting caught up in my excitement to eat them after surgery, I'd probably better not take a bite- Rather cut up and peel just to be safe. **We need a pig or OINK emoticon

PS-----Ouch, T., Right before a plane ride too.

Hi Kristy~
LOVE y our new avi!  What a sweetie!

I have never  had problems eating fruit, although for the first while I did peel the skins off apples.

I've never heard of the apples of which you speak, but they sound delish!

Come on down, I'll give you a bag. (Can you cross the border with produce?) Here's all about them, they were developed in at the Univ of MN:

Just have to tell you that after reading your post yesterday I got a hankering for a honey crisp.  They had plenty of them at Cub.  As I said, I will never eat a raw apple again, so I peeled it, cut it up sprinkled a little splenda and cinnamon on it and put it in the microwave for about 5 minutes and nummy, nummy....not a bad healthy snack!
