Post Op, can you still eat apples? 1- With the skin 2- Without the natural sugar causing dumping? I SOOOOO look forward to Honey Crisp season, they're the only apples I'll eat any more. Love them so much I ended up ordering some online from NY after the local orchards were all out. I bought my first two bags yesterday and have already had 3. I like them this year, at least from Fireside in Northfield, because they're on the small side.

I don't eat a LOT of fruit just because of the carbs, but I LOVE ME SOME HONEYCRISP!  Bought a peck at Apple Jack's yesterday (they have BUTTLOADS still!), and I LOVE the smaller size this year - no doubt due to the cold spring and shortened summer.  PERFECT!  I used to love apples so huge you could bite a chunk too big for your mouth to handle, but these that fit in the palm of your hand are PERFECT!!

Just remember to chew the dickens out of them, and you should be fine.  Unless you're REALLY sugar-sensitive - for me, I don't dump.  I really wish I did...

I love apples, but I have to eat them very slowly without the skins.  My favorite thing is to slice them, put them in a tupperware, sprinkle some splenda over them, sqirt of lemon juice, then throw them in my backpack for a desert (room temp is how I like them best)

3 months out and I eat apples. Once when we were driving and needed lunch we stopped at Mcd's and I had the apple dippers, minus the dip... no skin and delicious. I love Granny Smith with Skippy Natural PB!! And green grapes have been so delicious!

Initially I couldn't eat fruit that had "skin", like grapes and such.  But at about a year, I tried it and no problems at all!

I better get me to the apple orchard if Honey Crisps are already out!!  LOVE them!  I'm on a necturine kick right now.

Afternoon!

I love my apples but have to have them without the skin... that is the only skin that bothers me...  I slice them up.. and sometimes drizzle a teaspoon of SF caremel sauce over them for a treat... or eat them outside on my work break and watch teh birds fight over the skins that I spit out  lol  I feel like a little kid spitting watermelon seeds  :)

I haven't had any honey crisps yet!!  sounds like I better hurry!  and I can't make it to Bayfield this year either  :(

*hugs*

Lori  - bringing home *MY* form of sexy one day at a time!
