Worried about habits following surgery!

No, I honestly never really liked protein shakes - TOO MUCH SWEET!   I did them during my LD, but I still have two big tubs of Whey Protein from GNC that I rarely touch.  (anyone want 'em??)

I've always been the type to like salty/crunchy snacks more.  I get most of my protein now just with meals.  I have found a few protein bars I like if I'm short on grams and craving a "candy bar" - Twisted (at Target) are like a Take Five candy Bar.  I like the Balance cookie dough ones, and the Slim Fast High Protein meal replacement bars.  I believe they each have 15 grams of protein.

I also have a hard time with milk (f-l-a-t-u-l-e-n-c-e ), so I more often than not have nuts, or cheese, or beef jerky.  LOVE me some beef jerky!   There are some soy chips out there that are pretty good, but kind of hard to find - Genisoy makes one called "Crispy Dippers" that remind me of Bugles!

GOOD FOR YOU, preparing yourself mentally like this!!!

Like everyone said, it really is pretty easy because if you do try something your body will remind you it doesn't like it and believe me that makes ANYTHING unattractive. FOR me thought I really haven't craved anything and when I start to want something bad for me, it's usually because I've forgotten to eat or I'm thristy. That's been my trigger, bad food = you didn't eat something good or at all! I had SUCH a hard time before surgery, BEFORE IS HARDER! I'm 10 weeks out and down 54 pounds!

U Can Do it!!!  It will be hard mentally more than physically- but the surgery gives you the tool- Work it!!!  As others have said- begin now making better choices and learning the "new ways"- protein, chewing, liquids, etc- So worth it for yourself!!!!!
Best Wishes
