Interesting Realization

Yesterday at work we had a small continental breakfast served for a meeting I was at. Before I even went I wondered if there would be anything provided that I could actually eat. I thought if there is a bagel I can have that, but probably nothing else.

So I walk in and see my options, nothing but donuts, muffins, and some other sweet looking pastry. I looked everything and said "nope" and went and sat in my seat. Later that night I was talking to my sister and I told her you "you know I just realized that I have not had a donut since surgery in April". For whatever reason that just amazed me. She said, "well you weren't really much of donut eater before surgery" and I said "no I wasn't, but if there were there I would eat one". I don't know why, but it just struck me to realize that I hadn't had something in so long and didn't really miss it or care that I haven't had it. There is really only one thing I can't have that I want and that is ketchup. I miss my ketchup, but I am getting over it, but I still wish I could have it.
I also wore a size 18/20 shirt yesterday and couldn't believe that it fit. I still can't believe it fit. My body is changing every day and it is such an amazing thing.

Funny how we miss things we don't even really LOVE in the first place, just mainly because we know we can't or shouldn't have them. Crazy brains!

Why can't you have ketchup? There are sugar-free versions out there.

Please spay and neuter your pets!

I have not been able to find the sugar free ones at all. I looked at the organic stuff but it has the same amount of sugar. I don't know why the ketchup doesn't work, but I wi**** would.

Yeah why not ketchup? I still use it not alot but still use it. Before surgery I would eat donuts all the time. The best was 2 of them with chocolate milk and coffee. I haven't had one since surgery and don't seem to miss them either.

I have no idea why, but ketchup is not my friend. Everytime I have it my stomach is yuck!

Hi Rose, I don't use catsup, though instead use s/f KC Masterpiece BBQ sauce, powder spices, or Worcestershire sauce.  Several years ago, when I was first out, a gal from the boards had acquired an acute ulcer, and had been eating a lot of catsup for some reason.  I recall the high acidity of catsup is not good.  Sorry, that's all I remember about it from two years ago.  Hope you find an acceptable alternative!  FYI:  I always have one or two Atkins high-protein meal replacement bars in my purses so to always have on hand 'just in case.'  Hugs, Patti
