Too much thinking...
Thanks to everyone who posted to this. I think a lot of good was said and it really helped me to sort some thoughts out.
For me, I figured it out. Last year, I was on here participating with the group of "newbies" - those hoping for their surgery date. Then those dates came...
And I'm still waiting. And yes, it is by my choice because of the surgery I'm choosing to have and the insurance battle I have to fight in order to have that surgery. But I didn't realize the effect of that until now. I connected with that group from last summer. That's what happened for me I think. Just had to figure it out.
So, thank you to all for helping me figure it out.
And since cliques were mentioned, I've got to say that I liked how Linda said some people "click". That makes sense. We're not all going to like eachother for various reasons, but our overall common bond of obesity links us together. And I liked what Elena said about the close proximity of some. That is a big part of it, I agree.
When events are posted on this board and members take an active role in the event and then come back to the board with hints of details, that is where it gets dicey I think. Inside jokes and innuendos specific to the event or people that were there are hard to take sometimes because it is possible that a member may have desperately wanted to go but based on other committments, just could not. Just a thought.
