Hello OH friends! I'm not sure if your bowel prep for RNY is similar to what I'm doing right now but I think it is. Oh MY GOSH! It's horrible. I had to take 4 laxative tabs this am and am now drinking an entire bottle of Miralax which has already kicked in and I still have over half of it left. How the heck did you live through this experience? Thanks.

Debbie

UGH that is awful. I have a family history of colon cancer so I have had a few of those. The silver lining (if there is one!) is that the test itself is a piece of cake! The prep you are doing now is the worst. Good luck and even though it sucks it is well worth going through it. Colon cancer sucks!

Thanks for the sympathy Kris. And it's good to hear the test is a piece of cake. At least I have it early tomorrow. I thought of another silver lining.....my weight should be down don't you think?

I had to do that too. It's tough. I just kept taking gulps every 10 seconds until I couldn't handle it anymore. I didn't fini**** completely; but my bowel was clear. THat's when I knew it was okay to stop. Good luck!!!

Lori

BTW- my prep was a gallon of Go-Lytley

Get the softest toilet paper you can find!!!    I went through that a couple years ago and although the prep wasn't fun, the drugs they gave me for the procedure rocked!!!  I was just in silly heaven.   Just ask the nurse and doctor who did the procedure....I guess I asked some pretty funny questions....the nurse had to leave the room to laugh.
Good luck!!

Thanks to all who provided sympathy. I am done now and feeling pretty well. The actualy procedure I have no recall of once the nurse said to lay on my left side and she dosed me with drugs. I was so scared for this. I wasn't one second scared of my lapband but this ......just the thought of it.

However.....I had terrible gas pains and nausea. They gave me meds for the nausea and I finally made it out of there around 11 AM (apt was at 0730). I got home, took a hot bath, took some Gas-X even though they said it wouldn't help and went to be in knee/chest position. LOL....

I hope I don't have to go through that for another 10 years! Thanks again to all!

I hope your procedure went well, and that you're still enjoying that recovery stupor!!!
