I'm Home and I Need Help
so i was discharged wed afternoonish.. slept all day thursday and have somewhat started to get up and move today. i am back up to 272lbs after this last surgery and i refuse to change my ticker since i am hoping it will come off soon. i wanted to thank all of you for the prayers and kind thoughts. i am around 3 weeks out and am so ready to have things go smoothly for a change.
here is my problem.. i am on pureed/soft foods now and although i look in my book.. i really don't have much choices. so if you could please tell what you ate during these phases.. it would truly help! once again thanks from the bottom of my heart and i can't wait to start losing!

Glad to here that you are home! I hope the road is much more smooth for you now.
I don't have much advice to give you as I skipped the pureed part due to some of my own complications.
Many people talk about refried beans from taco bell. I did enjoy some eggs in the soft food stage.
Anyways just wanted to welcome you home.
Best wishes.

Hi Juliana, sure hope you're able to enjoy additional suggestions listed.
Phase III choices from my program: In a Bullet or food processor: chicken, turkey,or ham
Add a titch of mayonnaise (adds moisture) and spice powders to enhance flavor. To heated pureed chicken, add a bit of poultry seasoning--tastes like Thanksgiving dressing!)
Lite yogurt
Tuna--chew to applesauce consistency, add a titch of mayonnaise and spice powder as desired.
Unsweetened applesauce (add cinnamon, nutmeg, apple pie spice, as desired)
Mashed potatoes (make with skim milk or plain soy milk, I added unflavored protein powder)
S/f pudding: Jello brand has cheesecake I'd added lemon or raspberry extract), banana, chocolate, chocolate fudge, butterscotch, and vanilla (added various extracts per taste.) I also added protein powder to these, Did not get pistachio due to the nuts)
Protein sources:
I'd often enjoyed fat-free refried beans with a teeny amount of fat-free sour cream and smooth salsa.
Lite yogurt without fruit chunks
S/f CIB (I'd added extract flavorings to the vanilla: above-mentioned, or peppermint.
S/f hot chocolate made with skim milk or plain soy milk
Fat-free cottage cheese
Low fat Ricotta cheese
Scrambled eggs or Egg Beaters (I added a little American cheese--tastes like mac'n cheese!)
Mashed tofu
For fruit sources, I got Gerber 2nd phase foods: strained peaches (add a speck of nutmeg or cinnamon) , apple sauce, (add a speck of cinnamon) prunes (I only had soy milk the first six months, though could add a tiny bit of skim milk to even out the flavor.)
Hope you find some variety you'll enjoy! Best of the best to you! Hugs, Patti

Never let your memories be greater than your dreams.

First of all, congrats on being a loser. Its an awesome ride!
Realize that you are going to stall. Everyone does! Its your bodys way of trying to catch up with the new you. Also remember that muscle weighs more than fat. And though you won't be losing lbs, you'll be losing inches.
Remember that everyone's pureed/soft food diets can be a little different. With that said, try things that you never ate before. My absolute favorites at this point were Wendy's chili (two or three meals out of that one) - heated up refried lowfat beans with a little salsa and cheddar cheese - soup - cottage cheese.
The time will pass quickly. Getting back to a regular routine helps tremendously as well. Best of luck! It is so worth the sacrafice.
