Dreamfield's Pasta - Low Carb & Low Glycemic Index

Have any of you tried this brand of pasta?
http://www.dreamfieldsfoods.com/

I have found it at Cub and it touts to be low carb. I thought it tasted just like the regular 'ol Creamettes but I'm not sure I understand how they figure the carbs. What's the difference between "digestable carbs" and just carbs? "Protecting carbs"...I just don't get it.

Has anyone had a discussion on this at their support group that can help me out?

TIA!

amy - im gonna take a guess and say if you take the carb count and subtract the fiber you would get the digestable carbs - i think some dietitians say that you can subtract the fiber since it passes through without digesting.

I think that's right. I remember that from Atkins, you could subtract the fiber from the carb count.

This looks really interesting. I had never heard of this before either. I checked out the web site.  It shows the carb count as being different than the "net" carbs where you deduct the fiber from the carb count. I'm curious if there are any side effects, such as an upset stomach. I'd be willing to give these a try, especially if they taste good.

I was telling my mom about this and she said they came out with a bread product in the 60's or 70's that had undigestable fiber in it - because it was made with wood fiber!
