OT - I AM PISSED!!! (foul language warning & rather long)

Thanks, Jan.... reading all these replies and LAUGHING has certainly helped alleviate the headache I had going on this morning!

I DO feel sorry for her, having only seen me at my worst...  'cuz IT be UGLY!!! 

My mother has a similar neighbor situation that is just about as tense in Eden Prairie. She actually had the cops called on her because her sprinkler was watering a few feet of his property line. If my neighbor watered my yard I'd be thankful

I don't blame you for being mad, I'd be furious as well.

Oh for cryin' out loud... was he afraid she might cause uneven GROWTH of his precious grass carpet?

WOW -- A lot of info on this post about dealing with pissy people.  And I didn't know you lived next door to my neighbor!!! 

On another note, she is perhaps a very mentally ill person.  All of the things you say about her never coming out of her home, never speaking to any one, opening shades or windows.....sounds like a shut in who may not be able to deal with contact from outside influences.  Appears to be a very bad case of depression -- we can't relate and may not understand her reasoning because we aren't like her.  Just like we don't understand murderers or people who hurt children -- we just don't think like them and don't see the reasons they think their decisions and actions are okay.

One year our company repaired a home through Hearts and Hammers and we never saw the woman.  She NEVER left her home after her father died in the home years before.  Her neighbors recommended her for the program.  There were lots of us outside her home all day and she never came out.  She mentally could not handle it. 

So even though you are angry at her, I hope that we all pray for her to find peace in her heart.
