these days of fighting 
and being bored 
and whining 
!!! Soon they'll be off living their own lives 
and you'll be wondering 
why they don't come around more often 
!!!! Of course, now come the morning struggles of "get up"
, "hurry up or you'll miss the bus" 
and "you're NOT wearing that" 
. And they move from being bored
and crabby 
to being tired 
and sassy

Oh Barb, you are so correct with your thoughts. Not only wondering "why they don't come around more", but same thing happens when the grandchildren grow up. So putting it in other words, "what goes around comes around again; so be sure to savor every moment of every family member and friends that pass through one's life.
Just had to put my two cents worth in as the older I get the less any of them come around. I'm guessing it will be the same with great=grandchildren. (Hoping it's not because I'm turning into a crabby ole b_ _ _ h as I get older.) Meanwhile, I'll wait and find something else to entertain 
myself while waiting around for for family members.

My 'baby' graduated HS in the spring so now I have NOBODY to fuss with before and after school.
It just feels so weird NOT to have to do school supplies shopping--or get that rushed feeling as I hear the school bus turn onto the street!
YAY!!
