Making Choices
I have been faced with having to make a lot of choices lately and I am happy to say that slowly, sometimes at a turtle's pace I am changing my descisions to helathier ones and getting my eating habits and life back on the course that will take me to my destination. I shared with the group at PNC tonight that yesterday I received an answer to my prayers and I stopped and realized that the food I was eating because it was the flavor I was craving no longer tasted good, in fact it tasted like a whole lot of nothing and didn't make me feel very good either. So today after tossing out the drink & breakfast I picked up at Starbucks on my way to work I have consistently made healthy choices. I even turned myself around this evening on my way home from Adoration (where I went after group) and did not stop at Chipotle as I had contemplated and then made healthy snack choices at Walgreens while I picked up my meds. I was absolutely famished by the time I stopped there and so picked up some munchie foods, but then looked at them and then walked past a section that had nuts and put down the other stuff picked up some nuts and a granola bar and checked out. Then I came home and made myself a Lean Cuisine for a late dinner. I have been praying for an increase in my self control and to make better, healthier choices for myself. I am planning on packing some, not all of my food for my long weekend at my parents as I am learning that I can work with some of the food my parents have, that and a trip to the store is not the end of the world! I apologize for not being able to post a whole lot, however my workload has been heavy and I have been very busy lately trying to get ready for school, which started this week. I have been praying that all of you are well and that those who need strength, courage and healing receive what they need. I hope to be on here more often in the near future. Love & Hugs! Nicole
Nicole!
I'm happy to hear that things are coming around for you!!! That is wonderful! If asked, He will answer - we just have to want to hear it.
Keep up the good work and I hope all is going well at your folks and your dad is healing quickly. Hopefully he isn't pushing himself too hard though! :)
Hope to see you sometime soon... and remember to take time and relax yourself. You can't always do for others and not for yourself. You need to be happy and helathy to be good for other folks :)

Lori~Thank you! Yes I am making sure I am taking care of myself as well! IThank you for asking about my dad, he is doing really well and is walking better than he did before surgery so that is a good sign! He is lucky that he had a lot of muscle in his legs, which ended up causing the surgery to take longer, which has allowed his recovery to be a lof faster than most. He is looking forward to perhaps a phesant hunting trip late next month if all continues to go well. Yes, I agree that actually listening to God's answers is sometimes difficult, but I have dedicated myself to spending some quiet time with Him in adoration at least once a week and am hoping to start a routine of spending some quiet/meditative/prayer time each night as well. Yes, I would love to see you again as well, but I will have to see what my schedule looks like for this fall. I hope all is going well for you and that you are keeping certain stressors at bay. Love & Hugs! Nicole

Well, what are you doing this weekend? If you want to IM or PM me and let me know I should have a few minutes to stop & check my computer at home before I go to class, otherwise I will be home around 10 tonight.
Yes, he is very excited to go deer hunting and is hoping to be well enough to not have to worry about climbing into his stand.

Congrats for getting back on track. Making healthy choices is the only way to go. While some take offense to my "Proud Little Soldier, Making Healthy Choices" signature, and yes attitude, consistently making healthy choices and battling bad eating habits is something to be very proud of because it is very work!!! That's why we all laugh at those who say WLS is the easy way out -- RIGHT!!!! It is all about choices you make.......
