Way to go Natalie! Love the avatar, must be your little girl.
Thanks for the Chili idea, sounds good. Good luck with the journal, I am also trying to do it. It is a hard habit to get into. I know from past experiences it will help quite a bit. I agree canned pea are good.

Sounds like coffee is Saturday, I will see you there!

WTG, Natalie - you're doing great!    I had some pain for a bit after surgery, too, but they said it was most likely the tools they used.  I didn't need much pain meds and it went away pretty quick.  And don't worry too much about the protein at this state - just get in what you can.  That's a lot to get in right away, but it will get better!  I couldn't do it (or get in a lot of water) right away, either, but it does get better!

Ok Natalie,
Jealous here! Kidding!  I am on a Full Liquids diet which is pudding, yogurt, etc.  I am going to be on that for three weeks.  Only two more weeks of that.  Go slow with your food choices and introducing things back in.  Let me know what you choose to eat and how it goes.

Glad to hear your visit went well!

Natalie.....sounds like things are really going well. Good for you!!

I also keep a food/weight journal. I write down everything I eat everyday and have since day one. I especially pay close attention to my protein. I weigh myself every morning ...I always have all of my adult life. I weigh myself....then pop in the shower.
I think the food journal is an awesome tool. I can look back and see what I ate and what I need to change.

Good luck to you as you continue on this wonderful journey!

Hugs, connie d

I made 30 1/4 cup serving ziplock bags full of my pureed chili and put them in a tupperware container in the freezer. I can grab one on the way out the door for work. My NUT said I can have 1/2 of food per meal, to me, that sounds like alot right away. I am not going to eat that much for a while yet. I want my pouch to heal and don't want to irritate **** it off! hehe
I know the Dr and nut knows best, but when I hear other people say they could eat only half of that or even less, it makes me wonder

Great job Natalie! I think the food journal is a good idea too. I've never been a big one for journaling, but did use a 'diet assistant' program on my Palm Pilot for awhile-- it has lots of foods already programmed in, and you can add others. It also tracks excercise, water intake, and BP.
