except when the buggers fly overhead, they make such a ruckus you can't help hear them and think the worst---cold weather is a-comin'...
...and you don't even what to be anywhere near where they land!
The expression 'loose as a goose' doesn't refer to their funny way of walking.
One of the city parks has a contingency of shepherding dogs to keep the geese from settling in--or the park would be slimy with goose poop!
