OT - @#*? Car!!!
Well, I THOUGHT the car was fixed.
I had it in last week and we thought it was just a leaky hose, but I had to have it towed back Thursday 'cause it was still leaking. Turns out it's the heater core...NOT an easy thing to get to. They have to take the dash apart and it's gonna cost...well, I can't bring myself to type those numbers.
Not cheap, but definitely cheaper than new car payments for now. I have a loaner for the time being, though.
But as luck would have it, just today I got called for a temp job and start that tomorrow. And I also have a lead on a permanent job, but the manager (who I went to HS with) can't post it yet, but will call me when she does. Maybe there's really an end to this madness in sight!

I'm afraid that I can sooo relate to what you're going through.
In my case it was the alternator dying. The battery light would come on, and MAYBE I'd get home before the car would start acting badly--like NOT going over 30MPH, or fan quit blowing, and radio dying. Or the car itself dying!
It cost me a mere
$478 for a new alternator (included installation and various taxes). Which is $ I don't have! Good thing my MIL is a good and patient woman!
I'm getting rather depressed with job hunting. Apparently 80% of jobs are word-of-mouth. I guess it's a matter of 'who you know' first, rather than 'what you know'.
Good luck with your job hunting!

Yeah, car repairs s*ck, but it's cheaper than car payments for now. I can't complain too much 'cause I've had it for 11 years and haven't had any problems until now.
Yeah, the job-hunting s*cks, too! I started a temp job today which I found through one of the agencies I'm with. They don't get too many temp jobs, but at least it's in my field. Not where I want to end up, but at least I've got my foot in the door!!

Sorry to hear about your car. It's a real bummer. 2 weekends ago I was driving and hit a bird that was flying - it went under the body of my car after I hit it and a few minutes later the passenger floor started to get very wet. According to my mechanic (and the internet) a wet passenger floor is a heater core or the A/C exhaust hose. Lucky for me it was just the exhaust hose - the dead bird must have hit it and it became detached. Still cost me $100 in labor though - oh well, I came out way better than you - I did learn in my research that a heater core is a massively sucky problem.
Hope things get better for you!

Oh crap! Car problems can be so frustrating! I remember a car that I used to have used to cost my $1000 every time I took it in for a repair. That on top of the $575 per month payment I had! I had about 5 of those said repairs before I had to get something else. I totally understand your frustration! Best of luck though on your job search!!!
