Gas pains???

Hello all my lovelies

I am going to call my clinic in the morning about it, but was just curious if any of you had the same thing I have going on. ( and yes, I know everyone is different)

Got out of the hospital on Thursday. Everything has been going pretty dang awesome actually. Got out of the house Saturday am to go to my sons football scrimmage.   But today, I have a pain that comes and goes kind of under my left rib cage. I can move around to make it go away, so I guess that is why I am not really worried about it. If it was constant, I would be.  In the hospital I didnt have any issues with gas -basically didnt have any. But of course, did  have the required bm to be able to leave.  Didnt have any gas on Friday or Saturday either. So maybe it's just taken this  long to get the gas rumbling around???  I hear it rumbling, but it's not coming out too much.

Just curious if anyone had any ideas.

Take care,
Natalie

Natalie,

I'm glad that you're going to call the clinic in the morning.  They're usually really happy to answer any questions - even ones that may seem minor.

I think that what you're describing is pretty normal.  The gas can come at different times, plus the internal stuff heals at different rates, plus, it takes a while to get the bowels back to "normal" again.  It could be a little longer before you feel 100% in the abdomen area.

Hi Natalie....it would be best if you call the clinic.

However, this is really pretty normal....I don't think you have anything to be concerned about. Check it out anyway just to be sure.

Let us know what you find out okay.

Hugs, connie d

Hey Natalie,

I had some of the same problems, and I took the advice on here and called my clinic. FYI  mine was above my rib cage right below my chest, and somewhere along the lines I misunderstood the nurses and I was only taking one acid reducer instead of 2 a day. So mine was a simple fix, an over production of acid. Sometimes they say people need to up their amount of acid reducer so it's a good idea to call and see if that is the case!

Take Care

I am waiting on call back from the clinic.  It's a little better today. I am going to walk and sip a bit more today.

They don't have me on any meds ( except pain killer) yet, I am sure at my one week appointment tomorrow I will get more info on what I will be starting to take.

Hi Natalie,
I went home from the hospital with a perscription of prilosec to take for a month.  Every doc is different though.

Natalie,

I haven't had gas pains, but lots of gas and rumbling!  I did call the clinic on Saturday with a question and they put me at ease.  You will feel much better when you hear from them.  Hope you hear from them soon!

Good morning Natalie, my rumblings started yesterday too. I was told to walk, walk, walk. Hopefully your clinic can put your mind at ease.

Hi : )

Still waiting for them to get back to me, but I did tell them I didnt think it was urgent.  It is better today. I am walking way more than yesterday. I was pretty active in the hospital and the first few days out. Not sure why I decided to have yesterday be such a lounging around day!

I hope you are doing well ! Hopefully see you at a coffee one of these Saturdays!!!

Welcome to WLS's dirty little secret.

Before WLS, my hubby was the CHAMP!!!  For 17 years, he was the un-challenged flatulence KING in our family!

Now?   Not so much....

Just keep walking.  It'll help relieve the pressure.  And if you're outside, all the better!!!
