Home from the hospital

Hi everyone !

I got out of the hospital yesterday afternoon.  How nice that was! I was freezing in there, and no matter what chair I sat in, I couldnt get comfortable!

The nurses were all very nice and helpful.

My mom came and stayed yesterday, picked up dinner for my family and ran an errand for me. My sister in law went with my husband to open house for school , to help get all that done.. every year it seems as if there are more things to do at open house. Pictures, sign up for conferences, pay for milk money, sports etc.

After having such a rough time trying to get comfortable in the hospital, I was beginning to worry i'd have the same problem at home--very happy to say the opposite. THANK GOODNESS!

I am still up 3 pounds from the day of surgery. Must be all the liquid they pump into you.  My belly is very black and blue-they said i had a blood vessel break during surgery. Other than that, no problems. Hopefully things will continue on that path.

So far, it's been easy getting the water in...but now it's time to up the amount. ,so hopefully that goes down well.  I need to drink something else besides water--that is getting old already.

Thanks for all the well wishes--you all are great!

WOOOOHOOOO Natalie!!

I am glad you are home and feeling so good. I knew you would just sail through this!!

Don't worry about the pounds...they are from the fluids they pumped into you. Some people gained alot more then that. You will lose them quickly!!

There is no place like home after being in the hospital. That place is no place to get rest!!

Keep us updated as you go along.

I'll copy Darla and say, welcome to the Losers Bench! It's so nice over here! Walk and sip, try adding some crystal light to your water, it helps ALOT! I'm just over 3 weeks out and I found that each day I felt better than the last, and had more energy as well.
Sounds like your doing great, buckle up and enjoy the ride!

Welcome home!
Enjoy the comforts of your own things. It is funny how quick we miss them LOL. Add something to your water to make it more interresting (crystal lite or such) Happy healing!

Welcome home and to the losers' bench, Natalie!    Glad to hear everything went okay.  And don't worry about the three pounds - I think I was up 15 or so.  Yes, I freaked, but all was well!  Keep up that sipping and walking, sipping and walking, sipping and walking....    Another thing you could try is sugar-free popsicles...that counts as liquid.

Natalie,
Glad to hear you are home and that you have a supportive family around to help with everything. It is heavenly to be at home isn't it? I found low sodium broth and sugar free popsicles to be a great change for flavor the first few weeks especially since I couldn't have any coffee or tea. I got REALLY tired of water also but thank goodness for Crystal Light and Walmart sugar free drink mixes.
