Update--STRICTURE
I had my endoscopy today--well I got confirmation that it all wasn't in my head! The scope wasn't too bad--not pleasant--but no pain, just weird. The DR went in and came out fairly quickly, maybe 5 minutes--if that. He said that I had a stricture. It is so small that he wasn't able to pass the scope through to the intestines to dilate the stoma. So, the good news is that I have an answer and the fix is easy. The bad news is that I have to go into the hospital next week to have the scope done again under xray so that they can dialate the stoma. He wasn't able to do it today--too small, need other equipment at the hospital. He said that strictures are relatively common with RNY, but it is uncommon to be so small that they are unable to fix it in clinic. Bummer for me. The stoma was 6mm. I am not sure what normal is supposed to be, I just know that he said that was really small and he was surprised that I have been able to get any solids in at all.
I guess I have been chewing my food really well. I have only been able to eat 1/4 cup of food at a time and usually only soft/mushy foods. I will be happy when this is all done and fixed.
