New gal on the board
As strange as it sounds, today is my first day finding the MN OH boards. So far everyone seems GREAT.
Good luck with your journey, and as someone mentioned before it is VERY normal to feel nervous and scared. I almost walked out of the hospital the day of my surgery I was so scared. Now almost 2 years later I am glad I stuck it in there. One of the best things that happened to me.

Its coffee, tea or whatever you want to drink and lots of support from people who are at all stages of this road. Maple Grove Byerlys everyother Sat and I'm not sure how often at other places. Check with LisaJoy if you want to go to one on that side of town. It seems that we go all over and mix things up.
Keep looking or just ask someone will be happy to give you more info. I've only been to one and I'm hooked!

Welcome! I am a pre-op too.. just waiting to hear from insurance...Medica...
I am going through Healthest Bariatric in downtown St Paul...and i have had a wonderful experience...
There is coffee in Eagan and WSP on this side of town, which is a bit closer to you than MG... let me know if you can make it this Sat to Eagan coffee (inside Byerly's)...I will be there and I can give you better directions...some people get there at 8:30 or later.
I have learned so much and am making connections each day... I am so glad to have found this board... !!!

See, this is what I'm talking about!! You guys are great! I have plans with my cousin this Saturday, and in two weeks I picked up a Saturday shift, but maybe the Saturday after that? I would love to come to coffee and meet you all. Thanks everyone for the encouraging words and for being so welcoming!

As others have said - as questions - I don't think there is a question that is too little, silly or personal to ask. We have seen a LOT of questions on here that I don't think many people would ask their doctor even, so just jump in if you have a question...who knows - there might even be someone else lurking that has that same question.
As far as the coffee thing goes - there is one in Western Wisconsin too - that is a little farther than Eagan, I think. It is held the 1st & 3rd Saturday of the month at the Coffee Connection in Osceola.
We usually post during the week before to remind people of it and to make sure others that might be in the area are aware and welcome to stop. You would be more than welcome at our group as well. We don't have very many people, compared to the ones in The Cities, but we do have a variety of where people are in their journey.
