OT - The car survived!

My car survived!  All weekend I was thinking it would be more expensive than it was, but I got off for just a little over $200.  A good portion of that was labor 'cause the fix was hard to get to.  The antifreeze was leaking, but not to a point where I could see it.  I also got the oil changed as long as I was there and they tweaked some other stuff and I'm back in business!  Whew! 

(Crossing my fingers and toes that nothing ELSE goes wrong before I get an income coming in again!)

Yippie skippie--thank goodness!

Oh, and that also included renting a car from the dealer for the day (only $5.95).  I used the day to go to the gym and work out some frustrations and get some laundry done at home. 

Glad to hear that you are back up and running and not hit too hard in the pocketbook.  I too hope that you don't have any more car issues! 

Thanks, Nicole.  I hope I don't, either.  I bought the car new 11 years ago and this is the first time I've had to have anything fixed other than the normal upkeep stuff, so I guess I've been pretty lucky with it!

I am glad it turned out so well. Sounds like you got a pretty good deal.

Thanks, Connie.  I take it to the dealership I got it from and they take care of me.  It's the second car I've bought from them on referral from a former co-worker/friend.  And thank goodness I have AAA as the 17-mile tow was free! 

Well THAT'S rare, for a car repair to come out LESS than expected!

Yeah, it is.  That's one reason I like to take it to my dealer - they won't hit me with things I DON'T need.  I was SO thinking all weekend that it would be a lot more!
