so my almost 3 y.o son was "cooking" for me and gave me a chopped up cucumber. not even using my brain i swallowed it. it was a tiny cube.. but OMG it hurt so bad i cried and wanted to die. i guess it still so fresh that i can't just eat. i swear it must be the tylenol 3 taking over. just thought i would share my first mistake.

It is hard in the beginning- I remember "dreaming" that I ate real food right after my surgery and I freaked when I remembered I wasn't suppose to- thank goodness it was only a dream.

I also got a bite stuck about 1 month out when I was just starting eating meat- OMG it hurt!!!!  I feel your pain- hope neither of us go there again!

I remember forgetting that you have to eat differently.  I still forget to remember sometimes.  YOu will learn though.  This may be all it takes.  Congrats on it being a cuke!  there are sure a lot worse things it could be.

I understand its normal to have that moment of forgetting.  I had surgery in december and shortly after I volunteer to help my son's class room make gingerbread houses. I remember getting some frosting on my finger and in the past I would always lick it off and move on. Well, I almost licked my finger a 1/2 a dozen times. The same things happened the first time I made mac & cheese for my son. I almost tasted the noodle to ensure they were done. It does take some time to grasp this especially when its things before you never even thought about.

Best wishes.
God Bless, Angela
