AAARRGG! Job appications!!
AAARRRGG!! Again I say it--AAARRRGG!!
My brain is going WONKY (just for you, Darla, Sweetums!) from filling out online job applications!!
I am most qualilfied and interested in working with the elderly--hence the jobs apps filled out for ILS and Golden Living (who have posted positions).
I have updated and revised my resume and have written dynamite cover letters. I have even set up Minnesota (THANKS to Lori!!) and Wisconsin (thanks to family!) residences to put on the resumes.
OKAY--so what's the flap about, you might ask? I am so afraid of my mind going blank during interviews! I have had some practice in the behavioural interviews, but I am so worried about totally blowing the most important interview--the one for THE job!
I know I'm rambling, but I have NO INCOME now, and that scares the beejeebers outta me. So far, no calls even from the grocery stores I applied to.
SOMEBODY---ANYBODY!! Give me some good advice on how to cope in this situation! The city here has posted positions for case managers for welfare, and I applied for the job--which I think would be soooo ironic if I ended up on the welfare-side of the table!!
Thanks for 'listening' to my whine. I'll go and crawl into my hole now....

Oh, my sweet, sweet Sue - I can only imagine how "WONKY" you're feeling! The thought of being in your shoes right now would scare me to no end. I wish I had any tips or nuggets of wisdom for you - I have been in my same position for nearly 20 years, so I can't begin to offer you advice in the area of job searching. All I DO have are prayers for you. I have faith that God will find the right place for a woman with your heart and education! And hopefully, he'll present that place to you SOONER, rather than LATER!!!
Sending you hugs -
Sending you hugs -
Imperfect does not = unsuccessful
Thank you, my darlin'.
I appreciate all the prayers that are being sent out in my behalf.
I keep reminding God that this whole education gig was HIS idea, not mine! And that He brought me to it, He saw me through Part I--now we're into Part II!
((Now just gotta REALLY believe....))

Please tell her from me--or just let her read this--that she is a most gorgeous young woman! And I'm sure that with you for mom that she must be wonderful on the inside with a hilarious sense of humour! (If not now, she prolly ((What my teenagers used to say for 'probably'--have things changed???)) will develop a great sense of humour!
(((HUGS)) and
to both you and Bailey!

Sue,
Who's that sweet little honey you're holding...what a doll!!
I so know where you're at, cuz I'm in the same boat with you.
As for your interviews and job search, I work for an outplacement firm. What we do is when companies layoff their employees we help teach those individuals how to search for a job, prepare their resume, teach them how to network, interview and negotiate and everything else related to a job search. So, the first thing I will tell you is that only about 10% of jobs are obtained through job posting boards. 65-75% of most jobs are found through networking - most of the time positions never even make it to the job boards because they are filled through a friend of a friend of a friend. So my dear, you need to start networking...ask old instructors who they might know within the areas in which you work. Ask for an informational meeting with them - not an informational interview - because that makes them think that you expect them to hire you - which you don't want. You really want to just explore where the opportunities are, get your resume out there, find more and more people to talk with and then uncover what opportunities are hiding beneath the rocks.
Next, if you PM me your email address, I can send you a couple of documents that will help you prepare for your interviews, helping you to get experiences at the forefront of your mind so you won't blank when you're interviewing.
I've hidden my profile so to PM me just go to your inbox and start a new message and type "punkynpy" in the "to" field.
Let me know if you need any help. Just remember that God has a perfect job lined up for you, you have to do the work, but what He wants to happen will happen in His timing and He will take care of you until His plan is revealed.
Take care sweets!

So glad to hear that you got the stuff and you're starting to use them right away. They're a bit arduous, but well worth it in prepping for an interview.
Also, I'm sure you have plenty of faith...sometimes you just need to be reminded.
Take care and good luck. My fingers, toes, legs and eyes are all crossed for you!
