Hello
Hi everyone,
I just wanted to make myself known since I've been lurking on this site for quite awhile !
You all are amazing and have given me a lot of inspiration and at the same time are helping me decide if wls is right for me.
I'm in the St. Cloud area and have just finished the wls seminar at the St. Cloud hospital and am waiting to be scheduled to meet with Dr. Glass. I'm 37 years old and married with one daugher that I'm leading down the same path that I'm on. My weight is about 285 and is just taking over my life. I just hate this weight - it controls my life. I've been fat my entire life (except for that brief time I took off 85 lbs for a few years just to come piling back on :(
I think wls is something I'd like to move forward with. I just wanted to introduce myself to you and hope to make this (very scary!) decision.
FF
Congratulations for making the first step!!! I too have Dr Glass for my surgeon and just love him and his staff are second to none!!! THis board is also one of the best places to come for support and friendship!!
Make sure you come to support group at the hospital too, if you have not already, it too is a big part of your success.
We all know it is a scarey and exciting time for you right now, so be sure you come here often for questions and support when you need it..
Soon we are going to be starting up the st cloud coffee group again, things have just gotten so busy this summer, but that is another good source of some local support when you need it!!!
Again, Welcome and come here often and let us get to know you, and get to know us....We don't bite (very hard) LOL~~~~~~~~~~

Dear FF,
I don't know about that Carol... just this Saturday she bit ME!!! (But I guess I probably had it coming...)
YAY YOU for coming out of the shadows and introducing yourself! That's the hardest part! Now you just have to speak up and share your thoughts, plans, concerns, questions, good Ole & Sven jokes, whatever! We're just a chatty bunch traveling down similar roads in life - WELCOME!!!
Imperfect does not = unsuccessful
I am also from St. Cloud and Dr. Glass is my surgeon!! What a great surgeon he is!!! I love his nutitionist Kristin too. You are in great hands with them.
This has been a great journey and I wish you the best on yours. This surgery has given me my life back. I would do it again in a heartbeat!!
I hope to get to know you better. Hopefully you will attend the regular support groups and I can meet you there.
If ever I can help you please feel free to PM me anytime. I will help you in anyway I can.
Have a wonderful day and welcome to the begining of a new and healthier life!!
Hugs, connie d
You are doing great by looking into things. Remember, this has to be your decision. Take your time making up your mind as this is truely a LIFE CHANGING surgery and you have to be ready for it - not just physically, but mentally and emotionally as well.
I contemplated it 8 years before I actually had the surgery, and I realize now that I wasn't ready for it at that time in my life. Once you are ready for it, nothing can stop you and you will do FABULOUSLY.
Best of luck in making your decision - and if you have ANY questions, please post them...someone will have an answer for you.
