An Oh NO Moment

A friend who is 6 months ahead of me on the weight loss journey came to visit me today.  I though I was doing really well, down 25 pounds in 2 weeks and feeling good.  By the time this friend left I felt like a total failure!  She informed me that I am eating as much now as she was at 4 months and telling me that my food choices were going to end up hurting me.  When she left I wanted to cry!!

This was a person I was really looking forward to getting support from and now I am just not sure.  I know that everyone is different, but am I doing something wrong???

25 lbs in 2 weeks is great! You are probably doing fine.  Are you following your Dr.'s program?  If you are, then don't worry about it.  We all progress differently.  If you are that unsure, call your nurse and and ask her questions.  Chances are, you are doing fine.  I was usually eating a bit more that I should have but it didn't harm me.  Stick to your Dr's program as close as you can and you will be fine.  Keep your chin up, you will be fine.

Sounds like she's worried you'll be passing her up !!!
She may have wanted to discourage you.....

25 pounds in 2 weeks is fabulous -- especially with all the fluids we get in the hospital!!!!

You need to start building your thick skin to comments because they are all gonna come -- and they aren't all gonna be nice.  But keep the faith -- you just stick to YOUR journey and ignore their journey and their comments!!!!  You know what you have to do to make this work and you've obviously been doing it.  You aren't eating what you did before or you wouldn't be losing!!!

Keep your chin up and keep on marching toward YOUR goal.

That girl is no friend, by the way.

Holy smokes, 25 pounds is way awesome! Way to go, girly! All surgeon's programs are different. Some will allow you to eat 1/4 cup 2 weeks after surgery, and some are only allowed to eat 3 tablespoons. *YOU* follow what *YOUR* surgeon told you to do, and you'll succeed. You're doing great!!!!

Please spay and neuter your pets!

You are doing great....wow 25 pounds already is wonderful!!

Don't let this person make you feel like you are doing something wrong. If you are following your doctors orders you are doing everything right!!

Don't ever let someone conpare you to them as we are all different. We all lose in different ways.

We all eat alittle differently too. Different doctors....different eating plans. Some want us to eat less and some more.

Hugs, connie d

25lbs in 2 weeks sounds SO good! You should be proud. It's too bad the person you thought you'de be able to share the journey with isn't being very supportive. I'd be hurt too. You're doing great, congrats on your HUGE loss so far!

Don't let it get you down-I second all that has been said already!!  No friend would try to make you feel like a failure.  There will be times like this-just keep doing what your program tells you and know that you are doing FINE!!

see you at coffee again, GF!!
