UPDATE ON LINDA ANNE!!!
Well, she NOT going to be happy when she fully wakes up tomorrow. Had to open her up. She had two issues.
First one -- when you have the WLS surgery, the intestine from the new pouch back down to the part of the intestine that is cut, is run behind the colon -- so if you were laying down, the colon is closer to your chest wall with the intestine running behind it. The colon is in an elongated C shape. When they went in two weeks ago to look at things, the doctor could not see behind the colon and did not want to open her up for a problem that may have been fixed with the cleaning up of the scar tissue done at that surgery with the ovarian cyst. When the doctor went in this time lap, she went in at a different spot but she had to open her up to fix it this time. Her C shape of the colon was fused together with scar tissue so there was no space in the open section of the C. So that was fixed by cleaning up the tissue which cannot be done safely without being opened up. And when she was done cleaning up the colon, she looked behind the colon and saw why Linda was not able to eat -- she had an obstruction where, just like mine six weeks ago, the scar tissue was pushing in from the outside and was almost closed shut. So they cleaned that up.
Second one -- while she was in there, the doctor decided she was going to check the rest out. All the pain Linda has had over the past six months...........may because she had a twist in the bowel near the Y intersection where they cut to split the intestine for the RNY. So to fix that they cut the intestine again, sealed off the old hole and moved it over a little. So she has a new 1/2 of the RNY.
She has a drain tube, and no boob job or tummy tuck!!!! So she'll be sore for a while and in the hospital for 3-5 days. She was really sleepy when I left her and Brian. And because she doesn't handle pain real well, I'd guess she won't want visitors until at least Sunday, if not Monday.
I'll keep everyone posted as the weekend progresses.

Hey Barb......Thank you for the follow-up explanation on Linda's situation. You have a way with the words that allows everyone to understand the sitution. Now we must hope and pray for a safe and uneventful recovery. Keep me posted as I don't believe I should be going up to see her even with my infection suposedly under control. I don't want to take any chances for either of us.
I feel so bad since I was suposed to be up and healed so I could help out with the previous surgery and here I sit........and she's gone through another crisis. Great friend I turned out to be, huh?
Again, thank's for setting me straight.
Love ya.............Granny Eileen
