Today in the mail I got my acceptance letter into Metro State University in St. Paul!!! I will be persuing the Professional Writing major and getting a Bachelor's of Art degree when I graduate!

Hopefully I'll be done before I turn 40 (that's 8.5 years to go OMG).

But yes! January is when I will start, which oddly enough they call Spring Semester. Honey, we don't even usually GET a spring, much less it being in January! But I digress.

YAY for me!!

Congrats!  I really like metro state, and the other students that attend there.  Maybe we'll run into each other in a class some day.  I'm switching my major from Psychology to an as yet un-named major through first college.

I've never been part of a 4-year college crowd, although I've heard that Metro State has more non-traditonal students than most schools.

Why are you switching majors? I enjoyed the psych classes I took @ Anoka Ramsey all those many years ago, lol.

I've enjoyed my Psych classes very much, and I am still interested in it, but I just don't feel that it's my calling.  I really think I need to concentrate on an area that will allow me more physical activity, cause I despise sitting behind a desk all day, and perhaps that involves the outdoors.  I love the outdoors, all seasons.  I suck at math and science, but maybe I can force my way through for a degree in wildlife management or something like that.  So, since I do have quite a few Psych classes under my belt, I'm going to design a degree that will count those, and allow me to explore my other interests more thoroughly, and still get a degree out of the whole deal.  I am really excited about the first college program.  I can take classes anywhere and transfer them into this degree, I don't have to take just classes at Metro State.  I want to take some sciences, and some photography classes.  Both things that I really do enjoy.  Hands on and intelectually challenging, and variety.

YAY!!  Congratulations!
I'm so excited for you!
And it is strange that they call January classes 'SPRING', and spring semester 'SUMMER'--and we don't get EITHER spring OR summer!

Good luck in your chosen career!

Thank you!!

And I beg to differ on the summer front... it's supposed to be in the 90's this weekend! :O

All I can say is thank the lord for air conditioning.
