Oh man, can I ever relate!!!  I just had 2 teeth repaired on Monday and have to go in for a crown next week.  ANDDDD...it took me until a couple years ago to finally find a really good dentist.  I used to be a white knuckle patient, but now I could almost fall asleep when she works on my teeth.  But, yeah - I've had to have numerous old fillings replaced in the last couple of years.  Guess it's better than having new cavities, though :)

I have so many crowns, I feel like royalty!  8, to be exact.  3 more, and all my molars will be artificial!  Two of mine are gold, but apparently I've worn a hole in one and need to have IT replaced!  ARGH....

I don't process novacaine well, either, so when the dentist has to drill, he has to give me a shot in the ROOF of my mouth, into a main nerve.   Let me sit for about 15-20 minutes while all the nerves and muscles in my face go on vacation.  Then, at the risk of sounding insensitive, I look like I've had a stroke or something for the rest of the day.  Yeah, I feel for ya, Dana!

Welcome to the  party!

I've had most of my fillings replaced 'cuz they just went and disintegrated.  And my dentist is 'old school'--"Just how much can I make you squirm??" as he wickedly laughs as he does the intitial squirt of novocaine.

But he is getting gentler in his old age.  My kids are 3rd generation of McEachern to go to him.

I'm so lucky that I've never had to have a root canal or a crown yet.  These things sound quite unpleasant.  I had to have several new fillings put in last year after over 10 years of not going to the dentist...I hate to be bothered with the novacaine so for the smaller jobs I just have them skip it.  Fillings usually only take 5-10 second bursts (quick drill, quick filling) so I can handle that amount of pain to not have cotton mouth for the next 3-4 hours.  I know, I'm nuts...
