OT Doggie Update

Been pretty busy so not on here much.  My new dog has been sick the last couple days (started Sunday afternoon), had her to the vet twice (Mon & Tues), they think it may be stress and heat.  To make a long story short, she got out of the sitters house (they tried to stop her/catch her) on Saturday while we were on our way to a wedding and ran like the wind till some strangers in an SUV caught her.  I will never get another dog, as much as I love them this is all to gut wrenching.  Thank God she is better today.

Oh (((Gwen)))!
She sure has some real tough issues to get past. Poor pup.
Did you get her at the Humane Society?

We adopted her at Petco from the Last Hope pet adoption.

OMG!!!!  GF -- next time you need a sitter for your little peanut, let me know.  I'd be more than happy to take her in and keep her at my house.  And my little sophie would love it.

Hopefully things will settle down!!!

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind.  She needs to go to the groomer but I am paranoid to leave her anywhere now.  She follows me in the house and watches me from the car when I pay for gas, etc.  If I take to many steps from the cart at Petco she stands up in the baby seat and looks like she's ready to jump out and follow me.  So I never leave the cart anymore for any reason.  I fear she'll bolt from the groomer too.  It was so hot today I made her stay home after the vet.  The last thing she needs is more heat.  And today with the humidity it's HOT!

Thank heavens someone caught her!  My gosh...  maybe you should look into one of those baby snuggle sack dealies?  You could carry her with you everywhere!

One good thing about your puppy issues being "gut wrenching"?  It's proof that your heart is still firmly intact.

I never thought of it that way Darla.  You are right.

I have a pink bag I carry her in all the time, but I didn't want to take a chance at a wedding.  That was a long wedding and reception.  Plus a long drive to and from.  I have smuggled her into many stores.

Sorry to hear you're continuing to have such a hard time with your new pupper. Being a foster home for Brittany Rescue, I always remind myself that a rescue is just that, a RESCUE. Not always, but lots of times having one issue or another that may or may not have contributed to why they ended up in a shelter, or surrendered to rescue in the first place. You're an angel for adopting her, and I hope your days get easier soon.

She was a breeder release turned over to Last Hope then I adopted her.   Separation anxiety is the biggest issue we have with her.  Otherwise she is a pretty good little dog.  Being separated from me is what made her bolt out the sitters door.  Which is why she is sick.  Heat and stress.  I just want her to be well.

Have you checked into classes for her/you? I know they offer them here-so would think there is something that way too. My GF took hers to an obedience school, it offered a type of seperation anixiety class. Her dog would bounce the kennel out of the room, down the hall and almost tip it over trying to get to her as she left for work.
