Sorry its just me again..... Has anyone had this happen to them? What will they do if it does not get any better? I am trying to drink but sometimes it hurts cuz there is no where for it to go. I don't know what being on liquids will do or what IV's will do how is that gonna make it better. I don't know if what my Dr. is ssaying is the right thing ya know. They don't specialize in this and I think I am just scared please let me know what you think. Thanks Marsh
Who told you you had the obstruction? A regular doctor or Dr. Benn? Did they say where the obstruction was? Did they do a CAT scan? PM me you phone number and I'll call you!!!!

Marsha, I guess I'm assuming you saw your PCP? I'd like to strongly encourage you to call Dr. Benn. According to recent readings, (here on OH, too) bowel obstructions are a "common" complications of WLS, and it's not entirely uncommon for them to be deadly. If they gave you an emergency contact number for Dr. Benn for your post-op, use it. Better safe than sorry.

Vickie J from Fla just died from a bowel obstruction....Jupiter 6 who posts on the main board almost died from one a couple of months ago...these are extremely serious and are life-threatening if not treated....

How are they planning on unclogging your intestines? Did they give you magnesium citrate or something else to clean you out? Did they just do a "wait and see"? You need to call your WLS immediately - like right now.
