WOW moment... courtesy of my mom!

This was huge for me today...

I've had a battle with weight for years... and a battle with my parents about it. I've always felt like I let my mom down with my weight..

Well, I hadn't seen her for the last 3 weeks or so and I stopped by today and she complimented me!

(Don't get me wrong, my mom is the most amazing person ever, but being Russian... complimenting is not exactly in our blood...lol)

But she was so happy and told me I looked so much healthier... what a moment!!! I can't wait until I hit onederland.... I think she might be speechless... hehe.

2019: 11 years out and maintaining a loss of 150lbs.

You DO look good, Elena! I mean - even your new avatar! You look HAPPIER! As a mom myself, I can imagine how HAPPY and PROUD she is of you, even if it isn't in her nature to vocalize her feelings! I hope Bailey has her head on as straight as you do when she's your age.

As for your loss? I just went out & bought Hazel a fresh bag of doggie food yesterday. Nutri-source Large breed, 35 lb. bag. Lugging that bag out to the car, calculating that I've lost more than FOUR of them from my frame?

If you ever need some perspective on your loss, go hoist up a big ol' bag of puppy chow. It's very enlightening.

Even at my age, it feels best getting a compliment about my weight loss from my parents. I'm so glad your mom was able to vocalize her happiness to you! Way to go, Elena!!!

Weight loss is so evident in your avatar pictures! You are doing a great job----you are a beautiful woman--who's shrinking!!! YAY!

GOOD JOB! And congratulations on your mom complimenting you on your loss. My Polish mom was pretty similar to yours---you almost had to PRY positive things outta her mouth! ((God rest her soul...) Wasn't like she didn't care, just couldn't say complimentary things.

Elena~I am so happy to hear that your Mom was able to see all of your hard work and let you know how proud of you she was. I would have to agree with the others that for some reason compliments from our parents, especially after being overweight/obese all our lives and feeling like we let them down (been there done that), are better than compliments from a million other people. You do look so happy and healthy keep up the awesome job, you are totally rockin' your tool! Love & Hugs! Nicole
