Fitday....
okay, so I always heard about this site, but never went out on it....I have decided that I need to concentrate on taking off the 50 lbs that stand between me and the 190's-so I started tracking yesterday.
Who'da thunk boiled peanuts were so heavy in calories and fat for so little protein!
....for 1 cup in the shell, 200 calories, 14g fat, 13g carbs and 9g protein. Rats. I thought they would be better than that. needless to say, they are off my list of yummies. I figured that since they were boiled, they wouldn't be so fattening....but I don't like the numbers.
I should have tried this long ago-but better late than never!!! The good thing I have found is that I am getting my protein in just fine-I have to get my carbs/fat in line. I actually do pretty well for calories, too-as long as I don't eat the crap. those little candy bars, cookies, granola bars...they add up quick.
thought I would share-I am still learning 3 years out!

Thanks for the reminder! I've been meaning to get back to Fitday to track what I'm eating, too. I'm not eating much sugar and I think I'm getting my protein in (at least my last follow-up checked out good!), but I think it's the carb monsters (evil things!) that are getting me. I've really started to watch labels for those a lot more than I used to. And I'm trying to get to the gym more often, too. If I find myself getting up to get a snack, I'm trying to sit for a few minutes and think "Do I really need that?" Sometimes I can get my mind going in another direction and find that I really didn't. It's that darned head hunger again!

I started out using Fitday but switched over to TheDailyPlate.com.
I like the site better because they have a much better database of foods, especially if you eat out at all. And it's easier to use. Just thought I'd share...
