Wow moments with exercise!
I wanna hear from others about wow moments with improvements in exercise! This is such an important piece of our WLS surgery.
I am one of those who hates exercise but I LOVE how I feel when I am done!
I'll start with my exercise wow moment and I hope you will share yours. No matter how big or little.....just improvement......
I don't know what got into me tonight but I went RUNNING! I NEVER run! I got home from my step sons baseball game and asked my hubby to run with me. He said yup.....so we did it! I felt super. I visualized my muscles coming alive and all the weight that I had shed. I was able to do it! I picked my head, shoulders and chest up and ran! This is truly a gift and feels so so fabulous! I didn't go far, yet I went much farther than I would have guessed I could have!

Lisa Joy~Yes, I absolutely LOVE exercise now! I have been on leave from my running though for the past week due to an overuse injury in myankle/foot and I am going stir-crazy. Today I wemy nt out and took 40 minute walk and it felt good, until of course my ankle and foot started to hurt, but I pushed thought it and walked about 1/2 of my running course. I also love yoga! I was surprised at how rapidly I improved because as the pounds and inches melted away the more I was able to bend into interesting poses! I have never had an over use injury before, it was usually and injury due to excessive weight, so as my sister say it is my initiation into the world of athletes! I am praying that the Sprots Medicine doctor I am seeing tomorrow will help me figure out how I can still run my 5K next weekend. Oh, and my mom said to me a week ago that she never thought I would be her runner, but I am doing things I would have never imagined would be possible in a million years. WLS rocks and so does exercise!
That is so awesome that you have been running. I did read your post about your injury! What a bummer, but how exciting that it was not due to weight. Now there's a wow moment! Keep us informed if you get to run your 5k! Wow! That is super great!
I also do yoga. I mix up all my exercise which helps me keep going!
I'm hoping others keep sharing so it keeps or gets us all motivated to work this part of our WLS!!!!

My goal is to eventually run a mile... but a LITTLE imporvement in 3 weeks for me... I went to get my B12 shot the other day and decided to take the stairs up a flight instead of the elevator and it felt great... I wasn't tired or out of breath when I reacher the top... just felt fine and normal.. that's only with 28 pounds gone. I can't wait to see what happens when I lose more!!
I always feel so proud now when I choose the steps over the elevatora! That IS such a marvolous feeling!!!!!!
I just bought a bag of 25lb top soil and it is SO heavy! Go find one and lift it, you will see how much you have really lost! HEAVY!

The 3-Day 2006 sealed the deal for me on how great being able to exercise can be. I am training for my first 5K on 7/26 and believe me, at 292# that would never have been my reality.
On the practical side, my car bit the big one yesterday, so I had to bike to work today. It was hard, but not as hard as it would have been if I hadn't been running for the last 8 weeks. I felt great when I got here this morning.
Thanks for sharing your news.
