Hi Everyone! My surgery is this Friday. I am nervous excited and scared at the same time.  I can't believe it is here already! I have been having crazy dreams all week about things going wrong...Last night I had a dream I was so nervous and hysterical in the OR that a nurse shot me with a tranqulizer!!! Did anyone else feel all of this anxiety??

We all did to some extent - it would be odd to NOT have the anxiety!  Just remind yourself that you are about to enter a world where food no longer rules your existance, and your body will be smaller and HEALTHIER for it!

(And don't worry... the darts they use on those tranquilizer guns these days are really tiny!!!)

EVERYONE, I think, experiences some anxiety...and then before you know it, the surgery is all over. Best wishes. I will be praying for you...we'll see you on the "losing" side!!!

Thank you everyone.  I will suck it up and go pack my bags for the hospital! And I will disregard any other crazy dreams LOL!

Anxiety is very normal.  Just keep reminding yourself why you're doing it.  You'll be healthier, you won't have to worry about fitting in chairs with arms on it, you won't need a crane to get yourself off the floor - and you'll most likely feel better about yourself than any other time in your life.

Congrats on making the best decision EVER!

Boy, what a coincidence to read this and the replies.  I have been having doubts about going through the WLS.  I know it is the best thing for me health wise, but I think of all the things I can't eat anymore and hey, I didn't get this body by eating  next to nothing.  But then, think of all the benefits of being under 250 lbs., under 200, and my mind goes the other way again.  I see a surgeon on the 23rd and will get the 'yes or no' from him.   I am having a tough time loosing weight.  I was doing pretty good but then my stepchildren came for 14 days and I just blew it.  Now it is a hard time getting back on track.    Congrats to everyone who is doing so well, and I am glad to read that a lot of people had second thoughts.  But from what I can tell, you all would do it over again.

I'd do it annually if that's what it took - THAT'S how big of a deal it is to lose the excess and gain HEALTH!!!
