I am 3 days post-op and I am really struggling to get all of the water in, I don't what to do. It's not that I don't want it or like it, I wish I could chug it! When I drink I feel so full and it gurgles and bubbles inside so much it hurts!!

HELP!!! What am I doing wrong? Any tricks?

No way you can get all your water in immediately after surgery. How much are you actually getting in? Try your best, that's all you can do.

You are doing great for three days post op. You will be able tio increase as the days go by. Just give your body time.

Remember your protein drinks count as water too. You really are doing okay. better then most at this point.

Thanks for the nice compliment about my avatar....you are so sweet!!

I remember hearing that the water is vital, but the protein drinks are really more important, so if you're getting those in (if you even have to do them? Lol) I wouldn't worry too much.

SF popscicles count towards water too.....And herbal tea, etc.

Just set your timer for every 5 minutes and take a drink. That is how I learned to drink enough.

Good luck, Kelly

Don't know your name, but "hi!"  In the hospital, (FVSD) I was been given little one ounce plastic medicine 'cups  and drank one ounce every half hour.  I'd requested a supply to bring home with me, and continued with that until I moved on to a bathroom little paper cup, then on to juice glasses.  It can seem overwhelming to have too large of a  water glass.  Best wishes and good luck!  Hugs galore, Patti
