Food ideas needed

Next week I’m leaving on a 4 day trip up north with 10 friends.  It’s a trip we do every year we rent a super nice cabin that is attached to a scrapbook store and studio area and spend the 4 days Scrapbooking.  I’m a little nervous because in previous years it’s been a no diet allowed weekend and everyone snacks like 24-7 on really bad junk food and also some drinking goes on.  I feel like since I can’t really eat all kinds of junk or drink I might be left out of some of the fun this weekend brings.  I also sometimes end up pouting when I'm around food I can't have; I think I've mostly gotten over it but it still can be hard to deal with when everyone around you is easting ice cream (which by the way there is a ice cream shop next door to the cabin).  I certainly don't want to ruin anyones fun with my food issues during the weekend so I'm trying to come up with some alternative foods I could bring.   Anyone have some creative ideas?

Not sure exactly what you are looking for with ideas.  Beef Jerky is one that could work, popcorn...the mini 100 calorie bags and Trader Joes has pretzels filled wih p-butter, which I try to steer away from, but when I want a snack they are full of protein.   Does that help? Sounds like a super fun girls weekend!

I am unfortunately the queen of snack foods :(  But I've been trying to at least go the healthier/protein filled route lately.  Try some soy chips and hummus.  Nuts are always good.  Cheese and cold cuts.  Make some Sugar Free, Flour Free Peanut Butter cookies to take along. Better Balance makes some really tasty soy pretzels.  Even soy nuts are good. Hope you have a great vacation!!!

I agree with Kelly on the SF pudding when they have ice cream.  Some other good options are yummy trail mix (you can make your own with your favorite nuts, and a little dried friut), cheese and crackers, fresh fruit and soy chips!  I hope you are able to get a good arsenal of foods so that you do not feel denied in the least while spending time with the girls!  Oh, also pick up some fun flavored water or CL to bring with and have that when they have their drinks!  Hope you have fun!

Does this place have a website? Sounds like some place I need to go!!! How about making your own Jell-O shots? SF Jell-O and you don't have to say a word that there's no alcohol in them. And bring a can of the new light cool whip in the spray can to top 'em off with! yum-o!

The flourless PB cookies are a great idea from Lois. TG for Paula Deen! lol I was thinking, too, that just maybe there is one in your group who would prefer not to eat as much or drink as much, so just maybe there's a chance you'll be the one who holds some hope for this person - or perhaps one of your friends will be real supportive of your changes and prefer to hang with you. Your actions and attitudes will speak volumes  this weekend - and trust me, they are girls, so they're going to be watching you! Be the best example you can be, you never know if one of them is thinking about WLS, or has family members thinking about it. Have fun & tell us all about it when you get back!!!

Thanks all for the ideas just what I was looking for!  I really like the beef jerky and the sf pudding.  Diamond Girl- here is the web site if you want to check it out.  I have to say the web site doesn't do justice to how nice this place is but there is some information on it. http://www.onceuponapage.typepad.com/

You could mix up some SF pudding with yogurt and make your own pops or "ice cream" to have...  make a treat out of it with some strawberries and SF cool whip! How about drying some apple chips and use yogurt for dip? If you do any alcohol perhaps a wine cooler spritzer - use one wine cooler - take a couple of ounces of it in a glass of ice and fill with SF tonic water...  one wine cooler lasts forever this way and you can "join in"
