2008 Gala Garage Sale
Hi Everyone
Well the Gala Garage Sale is fast approaching....We are still in need of donations and
we really want to see this be a success....so that we can continue to have the Gala. We
all have worked hard in our journey to get healthy...why not celebrate this grand accomplishment.

What type of donations are you looking for? I hadn't heard of this before......Maybe others haven't either. Any more info would be appreciated.

And how much of the money goes toward the Gala -- I'm guessing there are overhead expenses (signs, ads, tables, etc) that need to be paid first?

Oh, I've got a few things I can donate. I just moved, so I'm still sorting, but I'll bookmark this post so I can get back to you in the next week or so.
The last post I remember seeing about the gala said something about maybe making it a costume party because of its closeness to Halloween (when is it again?). Is this change happening, or will it be staying a formal type event? Honestly, I am one of those gals that didn't do the whole prom dress thing, and look forward to dressing up and looking hot, and sharing an evening with others who are doing the same.

I've lurked for many years prior to joining and I know I've seen many of these go by wishing I felt like participating...
this year I finally feel like I wanna participate and am saddened it's now not really a formal event any longer...
like you, I was denied my whole prom experience and was looking forward to dressing up etc....now I'll feel silly dressing up with others there in costume or in casual attire....
I'm opting out of attending this year for this very reason...
yeah, I'm a party pooper LOL
