FYI - Do you like Strawberries or Raspberries?

This is probbly the last week to pick your own Strawberries, and starting this weekend, at least in my neck of the woods, the Raspberries are ready to be picked. YUMO.....I can't wait. There's nothing better than fresh fruit........ Grayson's berryland in Clear Lake is where I go.......For a flat of Strawberries I only paid $10.50. We made WL friendly smoothies, shakes, etc. Yum...... Kelly

I love raspberries!!!  And I've got a bumper crop about a week from pickin' on the west side of my deck. Elena, I hope you like raspberries!!!  You can have some friends over for a raspberry pickin' party while we're in the Dells if ya want!  Or maybe just bag and freeze a mess?  I love to use my own raspberries all year long, in yogurt, etc...  Normally, July 19th would be past prime time for pickin', but not this year... 

I'm waiting for someone to breed a seedless strawberry and/or raspberry.  For some reason, I just don't like seeds.  And peeling strawberries is quite tedious! :)

Hi Kelly....the berries sound wonderful and what a great price. Where in Clear Lake is Grayson's?? What hours are they open???

I can't pick them, I get rash from the leaves. Maybe I could wear rubber gloves?? I will talk to my girfriend and see if she wants to go picking with me. Thanks for the tip!! Hugs....connie d

Connie, Depending on which way is closer for you...... From hwy. 10 take hwy. 24 into Clear lake, follow till you hit cty rd. 8, take a left on 8 and it's 1 block down on the right. From I-94 take the hwy. 24 exit, turn left onto 24, follow to cty. rd. 8 take a right, it's one block down on your right. Not sure on the hours. Check out their website. I went to Pine Tree Apple Orchard in White Bear Lake on Friday morning. As of Friday morning they said they had about 10 more picking days left or so. It was $1.65/lb and the best strawberries I have ever had!! I have never had such ripe delicious sweet strawberries. They melted in your mouth they were so ripe. MMM MMM between me and my mom, and bringing some to my date last night, we managed to go thru 7lbs of strawberries from Friday morning to this morning!!! I definitely want to go again and freeze some this time :)

This is called the get up and go breakfast drink: 4oz. fresh berries 4oz. milk 2oz. plain yogurt 1oz. frozen OJ concentrate Place all ingred. in a blender, blend until well mixed. Pour into 12 oz. glass and enjoy..........
