Question re: dizziness, passing out
Hi Lori,
I am wondering about my blood pressure too. I've always had low blood pressure...there's been times I wasn't able to donate blood because I was told it was too low.
I do feel wonderful. I have absolutely no symptoms...it just happens out of the blue.
It was great meeting you and your hubby the other night!
Love ya,
Debi
I was gonna suggest low BP or low blood sugar. I know I don't eat many carbs at all anymore - having been diabetic for years, I learned to avoid them and have even moreso since WLS, but now that my diabetes is all but resolved, I've discovered I NEED to add a few carbs to my diet - mostly in the form of fruits, but yeah - that could be one thing.
Whatever the case, take care of YOU! We don't want you knockin' your noggin' for no good reason, GF!

Imperfect does not = unsuccessful
So Darla, what would be a good reason for knockin my noggin??? I like the way you think! I don't eat much other than protein. I have trouble with so many fruits still. I'll be glad when I can sit down and eat an apple! (Never thought I'd say that!)
I'm so glad I got to see you Thursday. You are such a sweet person. Who would have ever thought that wls would give me some of the BEST friends in the whole world!???
Love ya,
Debi
I see the doc on Wed. The surgeon's office wants them to run blood work. As soon as I get an answer, I'll post. The surgeon's office said they didn't think it was wls related, but with what I've read on here, I'm thinking it would be such an odd coincidence that so many wls patients have the same problem....
I never went down, but I get the same thing. Some days worse than others. Definitely go to your doc. That being said, I was instructed that it was probably just low blood pressure, and it takes a moment to catch up when we quickly change positions. I was instructed to keep taking in a lot, lot, lot of water, and to keep my caloric intake between 800 and 1,000 per day, cause I'm much more active now and need to fuel the ole bod. Also told to eat 4-5 times a day. All these changes helped me a lot, and when I'm watching myself closely, I rarely have troubles anymore.
Thanks Christi,
It seems like so many of us have this problem. It's just been annoying until Sunday, then it scared me when I went down like that, and now my stupid ankle is still sore, so I can't walk much. But I've kept it propped and most of the swelling has gone down. It sure is heck getting OLD!

Everyone has valid ideas as to the cause from low blood pressure to hot temperatures. lack of enough nutrition is what my doctor thought it might be. I was actually taken by ambulance while on vacation in Texas. The test results came back normal, so heat fatigue was diagnosed with lack of nutrition. I was only out in the sun for like 45 minutes but really hadn't eaten anthing other than a protein drink all day. I had fluids but not enough. It cannot be said enough: hydration and proper nutrition will play huge roles in how we handle the heat. Good luck with the Dr.
I've been getting in about 70+ oz of fluids, and since Friday have increased it to around 90+. I take all my vits FAITHFULLY, I eat at least 70gms protein daily. I'm following the nuts orders to the T. I guess I just never really thought much about the hot weather, never had to before, but before I was MO.
Thanks for sharing your experience with me...
