The complications, the triumphs and victories, the changes one goes through, physically, mentally, and emotionally, the things one gives up, the things one gains, would u do the surgery over again?

I guess I just have to admit that as I complete each step, getting closer to the goal of having surgery, I am scared... I know it is for the best, but, I am not to ashamed to admit of my fears. My fears of what would happen to me if I don't loose weight however, overpower the fears of surgery and the life thereafter.

It's good and healthy to be nervous.  this is a major surgery, and it is a major life changing event.  Know that it is okay if you decide you need more time before having surgery,   You will do great when your time is right, you are already reaching out and building your support network, and that is hugely important.  Keep your eye on the goal.  This surgery is all about you, and only you (this is where we learn to focus on ourselves above others), so work the process the best way for your success, and work it at a speed that's comfortable for you.  Good luck, I'll be watching for your updates!

I would do it again in a heartbeat, even if I knew that I would have all the bad complications that I had the next time, the results are SO worth it. Dr. Glass is amazing, he saved my life, and made sure that everything went ok after. My profile tells the whole story, but yes I would do it all over again. And as a side note if you weren't scared, then it would mean you weren't taking this surgery seriously and you probably weren't ready for it. Is it hard some days, Heck yeah, but then you realize all the things you can do now, and it is so much worth it, and beats out the things you can't do anymore.

Yep. I got the band... and I love it. I've lost 40lbs thus far...something I would have NEVER done without the band. Every pound lost is one step closer to freedom from my fat body (aka jail). lol

2019: 11 years out and maintaining a loss of 150lbs.

It is so normal to be scared and to ask lots of questions. In the beginning I did have some complications. But, I would do it all over again even with the complications I have had. The journey is so amazing and you experience so many wonderful changes.  I wish you all the best as you go through this journey.

God Bless, Angela

I had a complication ....they knicked my bowel doing the surgery. Dr. Glass is amazing...he fixed me up and I feel fabulous. Would I do it again??? In a heartbeat!! This surgery has given me my life back. I am so happy and wouldn't change a thing!! It is normal to feel scared. Trust me you are in good hands. Dr. Glass and Dr. Bettendorf are the greatest!
