The joys of this surgery!!
Hi everyone
We've been really busy here in Reno.....enjoying the beautiful weather....despite all the smoke we're getting from all those awful California fires.
Anywho, boy, it is so amazing, even after almost 6 years out, the things that I find I can do, that I certainly wouldn't have been able to do at 320#.
Every weekend, we have been going to Lake Tahoe (the most beautiful lake ever). We go down to this beach that is a 1 mile hike. THe coming back part is at an incline of about 7 for 1/2 mile and an incline of, I would guess about 15 for the other 1/2 mile.Going down is a great workout as well. The return trip up also involves going up tons of steps. Talk about a major workout on the stairclimber and treadmill. I don't think treadmills even go to an incline of 15 LOL
It sure is a workout, but I am able to do it. It's wonderful.
Like Jimmy said in his earlier post, it still amazes us the things we can do that we couldn't do before. And how much more we are able to enjoy the wonderful things in life. We also live on the 3rd floor, which is 40 steps to the top. I do those steps at least 10 times a day, in addition to my normal workouts. I do these steps with out even thinking about them. My right knee still hurts a bit......old age setting in, but I certainly couldn't have done all this at 320#.
Continued success to everyone....and remember, this is a LIFELONG journey, not just the 1st year or so. ENJOY THE TRIP!!!!!
