Tried it again
Well, after about 4 months of avoiding tuna because it would stick everytime I tried it when I was only a couple of months out I tried it for lunch today and it was pretty good. I was surprised when I went to log it in my food journal just how healthy it is! I think I will be adding this to my menu more often! BTW thank youLori for suggesting I give it another go!
Robyn~ I actually keep a food journal in an Excel spreadsheet that I created for myself. I like it better than the online ones because I have choosen just what I want to track (time, what/how much, calories, fat, sugar and protien). When I don't have the nutritional value available I usually go to thedailyplate.com to get the info.
You go girl!!
We have to keep revisiting those old foods so we don't get stale! Boredom is dangerous and sets us out exploring - more often into things we shouldn't be. I'm also thinking about working on recipes for some good old Minnesota staples :) lol How to make tatortot hotdish healthy :) lol
Glad it worked for you!! Now you have another quick and easy meal! Wrap it in lettuce - eat on whole grain crackers - or just grab a fork and go!
*hugs*

LOL--Healthy Tatortot hotdish, is it even possible!?! I think that would be a fun project and if you want help let me know and I can experiement with it as well (I will make it for my family and see what they think)! I think part of my problem with eating not so good choices was that whole bredom piece, but I am glad that I got things heading back in the right direction. I have found I really like it on Melba Toast, which is really low in calories and has no fat, but I like the idea of a lettuce wrap that sounds very refreshing on a hot summer day!
Yeay Nicole! I remember first having canned tuna, and it's been a staple. Have you ever had tuna steak? Cub foods in the frozen seafood department has individual 3 or 4 oz of that, as well as salmon and tilapia. I just pan poach with a little water and Molly McButter. They reheat very well too. All are excellent with salt-free lemon pepper and a titch of garlic--nummy! I also make tuna/egg/crab salad andwrap it into a Romaine lettuce leaf. I have BLTs the same way, as I just don't eat much bread. Was so nice seeing you again Friday night--you look marvelous and just have a healthy glow! Awesome! Se 'ya soon! hugs Pati
Never let your memories be greater than your dreams.
