Stupid woman needs advice

You know... I'm not 10 anymore. I headed out on my walk - had my flip flops on and my music like I always do. I got to the main road and my right foot hurt so I kicked off the flip flops and headed out.  I walk about 1/2 mile on this road and it's blacktop. Stupid woman has a numb left leg from back surgery and spinal column damage so I didn't really notice that I was burning up the bottom of my feet.  The right was getting sore so I stopped to brush them off thinking I had gotten a small rock stuck and there's blisters...  and I have about 1/4 mile to home and no phone n me to call Roger. So what does one do for blistered BOTTOMs of the feet?  As soon as I got home, I dumped them in cold water and cooled them as fast I I could like any burn...  I've got 3-4 silver dollar or larger size blisters on the bottoms of each foot. I feel like a frickin fool.... *cry*  any advice for stupid woman???

Take a deep breathe.  We all do things that make us wonder where our heads are!!! I use First Aid Salve for everything but I'd also cover them with blister bandaids.  The salve is available at Walgreens and it is in a rectangular tin.  It is medicated pain relieving ointment.  And put on some socks with salve or something in them to keep them moiste.  I'd also put on tennis shoes and just keep them on so the feet stay moist until they heal. You'll have to soak them each night to keep the blisters clean but they will get better soon. And always do your walks in tennis shoes.  You never know when you will have to run, or something like that and anything but tennis shoes won't work......especially flip flops!!! XXOO

Ooooo, that sounds painful!  My only suggestion would be to get some burn cream to put on them and then keep off of them as much as possible.  That blacktop must have been pretty warm to give you blisters!   If you don't have any burn cream aloe vera gel might work as well, I think the important part is to keep is to keep the skin hydrated.  Also you may want to up your water intake to help your body heal the burns.  If it gets too uncomofrtable I would suggest a visit to the ER and they will be able to give you something to help it.  **Disclaimer: I am not a medical professional and the advise listed here is not meant as such, but is just knowledge I have from life experience and conversations with my mom and sister who are EMTs.   P.S. Next time you go out for a walk make sure you have on good walking shoes, especially with your back problems.

No advice except make sure you have real shoes on to walk in, no flip flops - I mean real shoes - but I'm amazed on the toughness of your feet.  I can't walk across my driveway in bare feet anymore.  I used to go barefoot as a kid - but no go now that I'm all grown up.  (Most of the time!) Hope you feel better soon!

If they are open blisters you'll need antibiotic ointment and cover with bandaides. Make sure to air them out at night when you sleep so they can dry up. If they are not open, buy some sheep skin and cover them until they heel. The sheep skin will make it easier to walk on them as well.  Good luck! Lori
