Not having a good morning.....

Ugh!  I was fine yesterday.  Woke up this morning and drank a cup of milk.  Soon after, started to feel quesy.  Took a drink of water and then everything came up.  Ate a small amount of pancake, that came up.  I've been trying to sip on water all morning and as soon as I sip, I feel like there is nowhere for the water to go and I get all foamy and the water comes back up.  Haven't really kept any fluid down since last night, since I don't drink while I'm sleeping, lol.  Anyway, called the doc on call and talked to her.  She is calling me in a prescription of zofran (that disolves on the tongue) and she wants me to only try water today and call the clinic tomorrow.  She said that it could be that the pouch is clogged.  Have any of you experienced this?  How long does it take to resolve?  Could this possibly be a stricture?  I'll be calling the clinic in the morning if I can make it through today sipping on water.  UGH, not fun!

I am sorry that you are having a rough morning.  I have not experienced this exact thing, but something very similar.  I found (by suggestion of either on-call, er dr, or others) that just stop trying anything for a couple of hours.  Let your grouchy pouchy settle down and then try something easy - maybe a slider food such as yogurt or jello.  I have found that once I have made my pouch grouchy that it is best left alone for a bit and then to revisit it - kind of like a little child throwing a temper tantrum - walk away from it, ignore it for a bit and then try to 're-engage' with it. I hope your day gets better -  oh....ps...one other thing I have experienced......the on call drs for FWLS are not all very knowlegable in gastric bypass, so sometimes, they really don't know what to say or suggest - if you feel that your health is at a point of emergency - go to the ER - otherwise take it easy (back off of any liquids/foods****il you can talk with the clinic directly

I've never heard of a "clog".  Is there pain with the ?  If so, get to the ER -- could be like my bowel obstruction!!!  If you can't keep water down, something is very wrong!!!  Not being able to keep water down was the final straw for me  and going to the ER two weeks ago where they found a bowel obstruction.  But I had ALOT of pain whenever I ate or drank anything until I . Also, if you are sugar intolerant, you could be dumping.  Even skim milk has enough sugar to make me dump (I have to do milk throughout the day so I stay at under 7 grams at a serving or I get ill.)  Foaming is classic for dumping.  And the milk may have started sugar intolerance for the entire day.  Try doing everything sugar free today after you can keep water down. Don't let the Zofran mask other symptoms.  If it doesn't work immediately so you can keep water down, go to the ER so you stay safe!!!   I sure hope you feel better REAL soon..... XXOO

Thanks for the responses ladies.  I am feeling better right now.  I actually stepped away from liquids for a couple of hours to let the pouchy settle down.  I went up to walgreens to pick up my zofran.  I took one right away and seemed to feel a bit better.  I didn't feel like I was "stuffed" anyway.  I came home and made a cup of warm herbal tea and that went down just fine.  No problems.  So, I am going to take it easy with liquids today.  Thanks again!
