How about some spice on the board?

We're having a swimsuit competition over on the DS board, which got me thinkin'...(I know, dangerous right...) - I think we need some photographic spice on our board! We've already had a request for people to post fun summer avatars and I think that's fantastic. So, keep working on your updates everyone! Next, I propose we post Before & After pics. It's always inspiring to see the changes and I know being on the wannabee losers bench, that it's simply a rush to see the pics! So, I'm going to repost my swimsuit entry competition pic because like I said on the DS board, this is a pic that I will cherish having next year because I will know just what my journey has meant to me and will remember where it started. Nope, I don't like my pic taken and I'm not a throw it all out there type of person, but this is a personal journey for each of us and we've all got to start somewhere. C'mon, post your pics peeps and be proud of YOU!

Love the idea Amy!  How do I insert my pics in my post?  Last time I tried it, I guess they didn't show up. And please make sure you let us know AS SOON as you hear from insurance about your appeal!  I'm so excited and have my eyes, fingers, toes and pouch crossed. lol (((Hugs))) Michelle

Michelle - you are absolutely adorable & I was so glad to have the chance to meet you at the shower/coffee! To post pics, the easiest way I have found is to have the thread open on OH that you want to post a pic to, then open a second internet window or tab, bring up OH again, upload the pic(s) you want to your profile, and once it's uploaded to your profile (in your Albums section of your profile), right click on the pic(s) and choose COPY. Then go to the first window/tab you have open with the thread and right click again to paste it. Well, I hope to see you post your pics now! If those directions don't work, let me know & I'll give better ones tomorrow.

Amy I love the idea of the before and after pics!  It really inspires me.  I think you are amazing for entering the swimsuit competition.....now next year you will have the perfect comparision! Definetly gonna ROCK that DS! Jennifer

Hey you! Been wondering where you are. Amazing? No way, not even close. I just want to know where I came from. Everyone tells us pre-ops to take pictures and I wasn't going to listen to that advice and then a few of the DS'ers knocked some sense into me. When people say they wish they would've and now regret it, you know it's heartfelt. So, Jenn - start taking those pics. As hard as it is for us now, I think the advice is golden. We'll appreciate those pics a year or two down the road, and we'll know we're never goin' back baby! And we need to get a more current avie for you. That one doesn't cut it anymore!

I am here.  I always lurk on the MN board lately...haven't had much to post about.  Same with ion the DS board.  There has not been much going on for me.  Also I think the big thing is that I am feeling a little discouraged.  I do not know why, but the time seems to have stopped.... I will try to get a new one that is a little more attractive, but it is so hard to stand in front of that camera UGH!  I will ask my to be ex to help me. Hope to talk to you soon. Jennifer

Why do you feel that is?

No way would I let anyone near me with a camera when wearing a swimsuit, so I have no before pics ~ maybe wish I did now.  I'm headed up to our lakehome this week and will probably put on a suit...but the camera thing is still questionable.  I'm not totally in love with cameras yet.  I'll be feeling kinda hot and then see a pic and think...I still have a ways to go...then don't feel so hot anymore.  It's that reality slapping me in the face.

I do this same thing Sandy...  but you know what?  I earned the RIGHT to love myself.  Sure there are a few imperfections... and I have a ways to go on my ride... but DAMMIT I've come a long ways and want to encourage those behind me on the journey just like I'm encouraged by those in front of me.  TOGETHER we make up a chain of love - from start to finish  :)
