FYI ONLY ~~~~~ I had my yearly mammo two weeks ago and got the letter that they needed me back on one of the breasts.  However, my wise hubby told me even before I left for the first appointment to remember that losing 100+ pounds could REALLY change the baseline they had been working with forever.   So when the letter came with the abnormality I didn't panick or worry.  Rightly so -- there are two calcifications (spelling) but they are normal.  Just go back in six months to check again but normal.  And when a second mammo is done, they read it right away and let you know before you go.  Which is REALLY nice. Just posting this so if you get the letter -- remember -- changes HAVE definitely happened to the "gold toed sweat socks" and you probably will have to go back.   Then I had my 9 month nutritionist appointment and all is well.  I LOVE LOVE LOVE Julie Pike at PNMC in SLP!!!!!  I'm where I should be and wants me to maintain at 125-130.  To do that, as Ms. Linda Anne had already suggested, is to add a little more calorie/fat into the normal plan.  So adding a few nuts, etc. and can play with other foods for next three months to change up the normal eating pattern.   Maintain 45 grams of protein FIRST and foremost                  30-40 grams of fat second                  Don't count calories or carbs because if I'm doing the protein and fat,                       along with my sugar intolerance, the rest takes care of itself. Of course, that doesn't mean I can eat high calorie/carb food low in protein and fat and it won't count, but you get the general meaning of the maintain mode. My 3/4 of a cup per meal is the right amount for almost 9 months out and if room is there in my pouch after my meal, I should start incorporating some grains.  Maybe adding crackers with my turkey/beef sticks, cheese on crackers, etc.  I've been doing low carb wraps with meat and cheese for dinner so I've started some of that.  But when I order a burger, eat two bites of the bun, etc. would be stuff to add onto the meal AFTER I get in the protein and veggies/fruits. So I'm officially in maintain mode!!!!  YEAH.....not really -- not much different than the "program" any way!!!

That is awesome news both on the mammogram and the WLS sucess. I guess I never thought about stuff like that changing after losing the weight. Good to know!

Hi Barb....trying to catch up on posts.....sorry I couldn't answer you sooner. I am so glad your second Mammogram turned out good. I appreciate the information as I have one coming up in a couple weeks. Do they hurt more now??? I can only imagine!! Congrats on your great 9 month check up!!! I think this maintaining is harder then losing!! We have to be sure we eat more but not too much. I too am at about 3/4 cup....can't imagine a whole cup!! I know eventually we need to be there. My Nut says by 1 year....we will have to see. I am at ten months today. Thanks again for posting Pearl's obit....that was so sweet of you. I was so busy with my daughters and granchildren and couldn't get to a computer until much later. Love and hugs.......connie d
