6/27 Today I will...
Well, Happy Friday everyone! I thought the end of the week would never get here, it has been a long one, but yipee we finally made it! Unfortunately it looks like rain and storms for today, but hey we could use a little rain. Well, lets start off the day today with-- Today I will....get in 100 ounces of liquid (water or Crystal Light), make healthy food choices at lunch (I go out with my co-workers every Friday), be mindful of when/what I eat (stop, think, analyze), get some type of exercise in (I just bought some weights and a sculpting video so maybe I will try that), journal foods, limit myself to 1 snack of 10 pretzels and 1/2 cup raspberries, and focus at work (this has been a challenge lately). Yesterday I...drink at least 100 ounces of fluid (water or Crystal Light)--yup I believe I actually got in 116 ounces!, make good food choices--had a turkey & cheese wrap (only ate about 1/4 of the tortilla) for lunch which was about the only good thing available in the caffeteria, go to yoga (they are having an open house with free massage/facials, champaign and free classes)--yup, took an advanced level class and did 3 inversions (crow pose, tripod headstand and shoulderstand) talk about feeling impowered afterwards!, go for a walk--nope but I spent 1 1/2 hours walking around Target, keep practicing knitting--yup got another row done last night, journal food--yup and it is posted below, and clean out the cupboards--did a little not much hopefully this weekend when I clean my house. TGIF! I have to get a lot of work done over the weekend, but I'm glad that the days are inching forward to next weekend. I'm *so* excited about the 4th of July that I can hardly contain myself. I'm going to my parent's house and they live on a beautiful lake. I'm going to play with my nephews (ages almost 4 and almost 2) in their kiddie pool and sandbox. I'm hoping my dad and brother will do a nice fireworks show on their dock and I think that we're all going to go into town for the local fireworks celebration. This weekend is also going to be spent trying some new foods to see if they agree with me - on the menu - chicken thighs, tuna, and Barilla pasta (just a little teenie tiny amount of pasta). I also want to try salmon or tilapia, but that might need to wait until early next week.
Today I will...
1) Keep trying to drink as much water as I can. (this one is really starting to tick me off!)
2) Have a productive day at work.
3) Get my hair cut and foiled so that I don't look like a cave-woman anymore and can get respite from this long, thick hair (I can't WAIT for my hair to thin due to WLS).
4) Depending on when I come home, go for a walk with DH (I need to start getting into a regular exercise routine. My back hurt from sitting so much yesterday).
Yesterday I...
1) See my therapist - this was a very helpful meeting and I'm glad that I went. She asked me some good questions that really helped me put some things into perspective.
2) WORK, WORK, WORK! No more slacking and procrastinating. Big changes coming at work and I need to be prepared for them and I need to get my employees prepared for them - Yes, started working on the changes a little bit, but mostly did clinical work yesterday. I had two individual sessions and facilitated almost 3 hours of groups. Wow, I didn't realize how much I missed my clients while I was gone. It was good to catch up with them and hear about their great progress. They're so excited for me too, which I try to keep the focus off of me, but I think that them seeing me go through these changes in some way leads them to believe that I have a better understanding of what they're going through and this is improving their trust in me.
3) Since I work so many hours today I won't be able to exercise, but I should be getting up and moving about the building as much as I can make excuses for - did this when I was doing my paperwork, but the 3 hours of group tonight were LONG! and it was two different groups of people so giving a break sadly wasn't an option. My behind hurt so bad after those groups. Ick!
4) Drink 80oz. of water and follow my meal plan - *sigh* I got in about 70oz. water. My meal plans for the day got way off too. Because of my therapy appointment (and lack of planning) my first meal didn't happen until 11:30am. That and the second meal went fine, but left me at 9pm still needing to eat a meal. When I got home I found out the bread that I planned to eat had mold and so I decided to eat a piece of DH bread even though it was pretty high in fiber. Then, stupid, stupid, stupid, I decided to try Carl Budding lunch meat instead of the peanut butter that was on my meal plan. I made an open faced sandwich and ate about 1/4 of it before I was 1)full and 2) realized that it wasn't going to stay down. True enough, most of it came back up. First time for that. While that was happening I realized that I *easily* could have prevented it by making better choices. Oh well, lesson learned.
Jen~There will be many lessons like the one from yesterday as you learn how to live with and use your new tool. The main thing I have learned is to be prepared so I always have a good snack at my desk in case I get busy or have appointments and can't get my regular meal in. 70 ounces of water is not bad for only being a couple of weeks out, so be gentle and patient and the more your tummy settles down the more water you'll be able to get in. I think it is great that you are reconnecting with your clients and that there is more of a connection now that you are going on this journey I can see where that would help! It sounds like you have a super fun weekend planned next week I too have nephews around that same age (5, 3 and 10 months) and I just adore them and love running around and playing them now that I can keep up with them! Keep up the good work and have a great Friday!
Morning!!
Good luck with the new foods!! Remember to keep things moist and chew lots more than you think you have to... Small bites... Small amounts :)
I think you are doing GREAT with your water!! Try to keep your sipping bottle with you all the time and right where you have to see it or even bump into it. I struggle with water constantly... I'm hoping when I go back to work it'll be better. Thankfully, the water fountain closest to my desk has the coldest best tasting water in the building lol
So do we get to see the new -do?? pics??
*hugs*

Great Job yesterday! I think it is really great that you were able to recognize your craving to graze all day and getting out of the house was a great way to beat it! So is it actually raining up there? It is cloudy here with storms on there way for the afternoon. My mom and brother are actually moving my brother from Duluth back to Hinckley where he will store most of his stuff until he can get it all moved out to Idaho. My mom was hoping for at least part of the day without rain! Finding space to do yoga can be tricky sometimes since you have to position yourself just right so you can see what they are doing and do it yourself at the same time. I think those are 2 great videos to start with! I hope you are able to get the stuff done around the house that you want to, that is my goal for tomorrow as I still need to organize my living room! Oh, and my nutritional info for my food comes from www.thedailyplate.com or the packaging. I have decided to use a spreadsheet because then I can tailor it to what info I want and it is just more accessable to me, plus I like playing with spreadsheets! Have a wonderful Friday!
Thanks :) I noticed I was in "GRAZE MODE" when I would walk past the counter and grab a chip... a saltine... a piece of SF candy... argh!!!
It's drizzly here... on and off again rain that doesn't actually soak anything. If it doesn't rain, I'll have to go out and water the flowers... lol
I wasn't sure if you were using a regular spreadsheet or what :) I can make that up real quick - great idea! I thought maybe you had a cute little program that had the protein stuff right in it. I"m lazy when it comes to looking things up! lol

I know that there are some quick little reference books in the diet section of Barnes & Nobel that you could have on hand to help look things up quickley. I get frustrated when trying to look up food from restaurants and no one seems to have it listed online.
I hope we all can get a good soaking rain...perhaps this afternoon is what I heard on the news this morning, but it is sunny here right now, go figure!
Good Morning Nicole, and everyone else.
I agree...TGIF... better yet, next week is only a four day week.
Nicole, I like your food post...gives me food for thought... May have to follow your example.
I have learned a lot in the past 48 hours.
Even tho I have not reached goal.... I am attractive. This is becoming clear to me..... I am meeting people both male and female, who actually want to get to know me.
I have had been told I am hot... something I haven't heard before in my life... and this is by men who are attractive themselves.... I am getting asked out, not just thru the web site, but in my everyday life... kind of blows my mind away.
Today I will.....
Get my water in.
stay under 1000 calories, and aim for protein.
get some exercise in.
Be good to myself..
Hope everyone has a great day.

Morning Diane!!
Hell yeah woman! You are beautiful!! IN AND OUT!!
I'm happy that you are becoming more aware of that.
It blows my mind how invisible we were when we were heavy. As we peel the layers of fat away folks start to look at us... clerks in stores are willing to ask if we need help- folks don't look away when we pass on the street - Folks smile at us - People talk to us...
I pray GOD, please don't let me treat heavy folk the way I was treated!!
I'm thrilled for you that things are coming together. Keep up the great work!!
*hugs*
