Update from Hawai'i!

Just an update on some of the trip...

Got extremely burnt ....all 14 of us. Stupidity is contagious I guess. We are all now suffering burnt backs and red tomato faces.

On Wed, we went to the Luau -- fantastic!! Food wasn't amazing, but the show was -- fire twirling, hula girls,yummy hula guys (below). We made flowered headwear (look at my avatar), got tribal signs 'tatooed' on our bodies and rode on a canoe for a while.

Today -- my mom, best friend and I went out to snorkel.  A boat took us ou****ched dolphins for a while... then snorkeled in the ocean.. looked at turtles and cute fish.

Besides getting burnt it sounds like you are having a wonderful time!  I would love to be able to swin and see lots of beautiful dolphins, fish and turtles!  I would have to agree the hula guys are yummy!  Hope you heal from your burn soon and can't wait to see more pics when you get back!

Aloha Elena!  OUCHIE!  Can you say "sunscreen?"  Ha, ha, tee-hee, hee !?!!  Apply vinegar with a cotton ball, and it will lessen potential peeling (learned from a guy from Hawaii in '81 when that happened to me in Acapulco--using SPF #4 solely for the 'quick' tan on the second of ten days --Enjoy the rest of your trip!  Hugs, er, very, very gentle hugs galore, Patti  (who'd rather be there and fried than here with today's thick gray skies!)

lol The sad part....we were all wearing sunscreen..ugh lol. My skin  was basically blue before i came here... now it's bright red...lol.

Ahhh I can almost smell the plumeria!  *contented sigh* Sounds like you are having fun!!  The thought of the guys stationed at the entrance to the beaches is a wonderfully titillating idea!  lol  Might even make me have to visit again! What island are you on??  Oahu? Dolphins are so cool and a really good sign too!  If they are out frolicking, the sharks aren't  :) *hugs*

Sunburn sucks try rubbing a damp tea bag on the burn. My hubby does this and it works every time. Have fun!

Damp teabags!  I do use cooled camp ones for puffy eyes, and it works fab!  Wish I'd known that 27 years ago in Acapulco, cuz my Dad kept laughing at my smelling like a marinated salad with all the vinegar application.....so excited to see everyone tonight ! Metro Mobility wasn't able to pick me up til 6:30, (requested I be there by that time)  so with rush hour traffic headed northward, who knows when I'll get there, and my return ride is 8:30--I just may take you up on the ride offer home afterwards, depending on the time--my weekend to work, and will be getting up at 5:45 a.m...looking forward to seeing less of you and quite a few other peeps!  Hugs, Patti
