Hi everyone, Just wanted to give those who were following me a quick update.  I had my port replaced this morning.  And I'm home.  As I knew all along for all those many many months, I had a leak.  A small hole in my port which lead to a slow leak.  About every three weeks I would lose restriction completely.  I've been struggling with this for months trying to watch my eating habits.  I started out at 239 and had managed to get myself down to 173, but I was back up to 194.  This morning though I was down to 190!  So I've pretty much managed to maintain about a 49lb weight lost since having surgery 20 months ago. My port is now fixed and I am very excited as is my doctor for me as I'm am sure that my band will now hold it's restrictions and I can stay satisfied longer on smaller portions and that I can get losing again. Oh and by the way, Dr's can be wrong.  Stay on top of things when you say somethings not working.  Always always be pro-active in your health no matter what it is.  I kept going in month after month and the same person has been doing my fills.  I would have thought she would have suspected something after seeing me on a monthly basis for months on end. Again thanks for all your support.   Kathleen

Hi Kathleen~ It's pretty cool that you lost and maintained your loss in spite of the leak!  Just think what'll happen to you with the band actually working!  You will melt... Ya sure can't depend on the medical profession to watch your health, as this situation has proved! I'll be watching for news of the shrinking Kathleen! ((HUGS)) **SUE**

Kathleen,
Glad to hear you got in and got it taken care of. All in all, you've done a great job - mostly on your own. With that kind of determination, just think what you'll be able to do with a functioning band! You are so right - we have to be pro-active regarding our health and our bodies. Jean B.

Morning everyone, I'm down 4 lbs even after the iv's!  I felt pretty good after surgery yesterday but as the eve and morning wore on that all ended.  I got up about 4am cuz I was uncomfortable took some drugs and made some coffee and went and laid back down.  I got up at 6am with Bob and thought I was going to be OK, so he got me set up in the reclyner and I attempted to have some coffee, but then I got woozie and shaking and nausea and I finally just had to go back to bed.  I just had some jello with cool whip, but I need some more pain meds, I'll probably have to go back and lay down. It's such a nice day out and since it's not too hot yet, I might try to go sit on the deck for a bit. Kathleen
