Diamond Girl/Amy sent me this great link once. I believe it has to be under 100, but I can't remember. If it's too big, it will tell you what the max size is and then you just enter that info.

For an avatar, at shrinkpictures.com either 100 x 1000 or 200 x 1000 I always use 100 x 1000and haven't had a problem. Some other use 200 x 1000 so the picture isn't distorted.
