I have always liked the Mrs. Gerry's brand chicken salad.  In order to get a good high protein foods in, I was thinking of this. Does anyone know the ingredients they use in that?  It is the best chicken salad. By chance would there be someone that knows what goes into their chicken salad? Mrs' Gerry's products are made in  Albert Lea, Minnesota. Otherwise does anyone have a great chicken salad recipe? Thanks,
Jim G.,

Hi James, being a minority cook-from scratch gal, YES, I have several chicken salad recipes which I'd be happy to share soon as I get my own computer up and running again--hopefully by Friday afternoon, though just unsure at present.  I made a reminder note and will post them soon as I can!  Patience.....not one of my best virtues!  Hugs galore, Patti

Hi James, I found her website www.mrsgerrys.com for recipes, alhough all require her base mixes, and found no purchase information.  I am posting several chicken salad recipes from my collection, so hope something will be close to what you're seeking. :Perhaps the first recipe, omitting the grapes, celery, and almonds/cashews would be close to what I found pictured in the website.  Best wishes! Patti Chicken Salad 2 cups diced chicken 1 TB minced onion 1 tsp salt 1 cup green seedless grapes 1 cup diced celery 2/3 cup slivered almonds or cashews 1 cup cooked macaroni rings or shells (optional, if omitting, use less whipped cream) 1 cup salad dressing (I use only Miracle Whip, which is tangier than Hellman's) 1 cup heavy cream, whipped In large bowl, combine chicken, onions, and salt.  Refrigerate several hours.  Add grapes, celery, almonds, optional macaroni rings or shells, and salad dressing.  Mix together and refrigerate several hours.  When ready to serve, fold in whipped cream. (HINT I  separately make the two sections, refrigerating in separate covered bowls for several hours, then add whipped cream.  The purpose of pre-refrigeration will bring out the individual flavors). Layered Chicken Salad 5 cups cooked cubed chicken                        2 cups Hellman's mayo 3 large stalks celery, diced                              1/4 cup Durkee famous sauce (found in  16 oz frozen peas, thawed                                spice  section at grocery store) 8 oz can water chestnuts, drained                  2 Tbsp Splenda 1 whole  red onion, thinly sliced                       1 tsp salt 5 hard-boiled eggs, sliced                                  1/2 tsp pepper                                                                                    8 oz pkg grated Swiss cheese (or fine-                                                                                 shredded)                                                                                     1/2 cup sliced almonds                                          In 9" x 13"  cake pan, layer chicken, celery, peas, water chestnuts, and eggs.  In medium bowl, combine mayonnaise, Durkee sauce, Splenda, salt, and pepper.  Spread over top  of first layer. Then top with layer of cheese and almonds.  Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate six hours or overnight.
